all I ever said was second round won’t ve as big as the first.
Theres a reason its combined and not individual stated
I bought it because it was the only paid skin in overwatch.
today or the re release, is just another random 20$ shop skin. nothing special. yeah goes to charity, but at the end of the day, its just another 20$ skin besides 100s of 20$ skins.
pink was like THE ONE and ONLY 20$ skin.
Personally won’t ever buy a charity skin again because wheres the difference for me? There’s none, just a 20 bucks shop skin.
skin good = buy
skin bad or worse than any other skin? don’t buy.
pink was an exception as the only 20 bucks skin and charity on top.
no shot bronze sold better than pink. i see no way
$12.3 million for pixels. This is obviously a more sought after skin, but I still think it’s a good reference for how much good Mercy skins rake in.
Now imagine how much money they’ve made on other skins of same or better quality over the last 2 years. You’re telling me they can’t change the monetization system to be more fair to players?
Didnt they also release 2 skins this time, the regular and a recolor?
And to be honest i never saw people saying it wouldnt make money, the common statement i saw was from people begging for the skin to return saying it would make double or triple the amount it made the first time around.
Theyve lied before and liars lie. With that others have said its bin confirmed numbers from the charity so i say good on them and hopefully they do more in the future. But i alrdy went over this with another member.
Is a good thing they raised that amount of money, although I’m curious about how much taxes and fees ate the OG amount.
That kind of information can be eye opening to consider other avenues to benefit charity in more effective way or even to improve another future charity events.
I think rivals will proove they CAN, but it shows that they will not. If people do this for 2 years now, why should they stop? Its only logical. Not to mention the devs dont decide this.
so I assume you donate regularly to every single charity in existance.
always the loudest with the best takes.
don’t reply unless its a Screenshot of all your donations. Since who cares about people losing their loved ones in war? to diseases etc.
you clearly don’t.
oh and PS : thanks for littleraly proving my point
typically non-profits only receive donations, donations are tax exempt, and the donating party receives a receipt from the charity with the tax identifying number
there are NO fees in charitable donations, and any amount donated can be used to reduce current taxes owing.
really all you need is an understanding of taxation
what the charity does with the donation is out of everyones hand
The issue is about platforms and worldwide. If you convert any currency to USD there’s a cost on it. There’s also a cost to do that in a platform not owned by you. Even platforms owned by you as default, could still introduce some fee to keep the service running or the billing system.
My goal was to actually incentivize to look to the said sum and maybe consider each region support their own local charities, would at least cut the currency conversion by example.
They are a company big enough to have that kind of reach. That would maximize the impact and reach to giving even more money to charity.
Each time there’s a party involved in the transation, there’s a cut. I’m suggesting to look to that amount and actually improve the system to effectively have more positive impact.
Just a footnote, the skin itself is not you giving to charity is blizzard, so your expense wasn’t tax fee exempt and neither fee exempt. Keep that in mind.
I would love to see Blizzard get involved in more other charitable causes. Even if it was only a % of a skin, I would buy it without thinking.
As someone who lives this damn disease up close, THANK YOU SO MUCH! 🩷
right, but you (or the person buying the charity skin) are not making a donation. blizzard is making the donation
lets break this down…lets say i buy the skin, i make the purchase through blizzards platform, blizzard has offices in my country, therefore, they can convert the amount themselves without paying a fee for the exchange rate through the bank. lets also consider the buying power of a company like blizzard, they would negotiate with their bank to have almost zero fees associated on their accounts, due to the amount of money being held with the bank, that the bank can then loan out to other customers.
lets say they use a third party to accept their payments, none of the payments that third party receives have fees deducted, the payment company would issue an invoice at the end of the month for ALL the transactions that occurred. blizz would then pay that bill.
this isnt drug dealing bro, while typically that would be true, the cut ISNT from the amounts received.
Yes. The transaction between the user/player and Blizzard will be subject to fee and taxes.
Sadly is there are other platforms, like psn, nintendo network, steam, ms store and so on.
A receipt or a code given by the charity institution in a direct donation would cut a ton of problems. Or simply provide a channel to blizzard direct manage the transaction expenses.
Those already would raise way more due less parties in the equation.
Some, actually take their fees at the transaction. But would be really dependant of the place and method of payment.
Some places, actually is a percentile, while others have a nominal fee per transaction.
Which is why my suggestion was to actually reduce hops to increase the benefit for the ones in need. Is not a criticism is a suggestion to look on more effective ways to do that.
