1. Complain

I usually get 60 ping / 20 ind when playing in Americas region, now I get 200 - 250 ping (not ok) / 20 - 70 ind (fluctuation bearable). Tried playing in Asia, the issue is not that bad but ping/ind spikes happen from time to time.

The connection between your computer and the modem has a 684ms response time. The lag continues to build as it moves through the ISP network. If you’re playing on wireless, switch to a cable and make sure to reboot all devices.

Okay, then it may be the line for your ISP, since your modem IP isn’t showing up in the list of devices in your test.

That is disappointing, any tips on how we can report this issue to our ISP? Usually the test would just be “please look at the speed test result, if everything looks good then there is no problem”. We already tried calling the ISP and asked them to do some sort of reset, however the issue still persist.

By the way, I would just to reiterate that its only for americas region.

This definitely lets me know that you’re talking to a general customer service agent and not a technician. Speed tests don’t show the quality of the connection, so it wouldn’t be used as a diagnostic for this problem. You could forward them the original test results you shared here.

That’s weird since the connection issues are throughout the test. But logic says that if you’re playing without issue on the Americas servers and she isn’t, then the problem is somewhere between her home and the server, not the server itself.

Thank you! I will try to request a technician next time and point them to the test result.

I will do the test again, both when playing in Americas region and Asia region. I am not the only one experiencing lag on Americas with my internet subscription to globebroadband and geographically located in PH Cebu.

Tested it again

During this test there was no erratic spike in terms of PING and IND. For Asia region 70 Ping and 20 IND on Americas region 180 Ping and 20 IND.

side note: I tried testing using another ISP, however it was not reliable since many are currently using that connection and I only tethered via phone. But the average acceptable network status was 70 PING and 20 IND.

Hi there, I do have the same issue.
Same ISP provider, Globe broadband(Fiber- 50mbps) and, the location is pretty much the same(Cebu). I normally play in the Americas region with latency mostly 50ms to 60ms. Since the beginning of the issue(2nd week of april, i guess), my ping in the Americas right now is around 140-200ms while the IND spikes from 20-25ms. Asia’s latency isn’t stable to, begin with. Out of 5 games 3 of which would stay around 200ms. I did try all the basic troubleshooting and also did call the ISP for further assistance. Unfortunately nothing works and my latency stays the same. We are hoping that you could at least alleviate our problem in this matter.
Btw, a winMTR is provided below for additional info.

Since this started happening about a month ago, it sounds like the ISP changed the route you use to connect to Amazon or the Overwatch servers, and now it’s causing these issues. Unfortunately, there’s no way for me as a volunteer (or Blizzard staff) to confirm this, as only your ISP would have that information about their routing configuration. However, there are currently no known issues with Blizzard’s network in Oceania, and other players are online without experiencing this. So taking all of this into account, it points to your common ISP as the source of the problem.

Updates would come from your ISP, not Blizzard. They do not have any ongoing issues with connections to their servers in your region.

Hey @EralXD,

right now it has gone down to 120 average ping and stable 20 IND. Maybe you can change your DNS settings use cloudflare’s DNS that might help.
