Overwatch League Grand Finals Rules

  • Series is best of three 5-map matches. Once a team wins two matches, they win the tournament.
  • Match is played best of 5 maps. Once a team wins 3 maps, that match is final.
  • If a series goes to the tiebreaker match (game 3), teams will be able to pick which maps are played. See tiebreaker match map selection rules below.
  • In the event, the series is tied after 5 maps, the standard tiebreaker map will be played.
  • Overwatch League Playoffs will be played on the previous live version of the game (version 1.25), however Symmetra will not be eligible for selection due to her recent balance rework.
  • Winner of this series faces off against the London Spitfire in the Grand Finals in New York City starting Friday July 27th.

Match 3 Map Selection Rules

  • Map 1 Escort - Highest Rank Seed selects map, Lowest rank seed selects starting side (Attack/Defend). Only Junkertown or Dorado may be selected.
  • Map 2 Control - Team that lost map 1 selects map. Only Lijang Tower or Oasis may be selected.
  • Map 3 Hybrid - Team that lost map 2 selects map, Team that won map 2 selects starting side (Attack/Defend). Only King's Row or Eichenwalde may be selected.
  • Map 4 Assault - Team that lost map 3 selects map, Team that won map 3 selects starting side (Attack/Defend). Only Hanamura or Volskaya Industries may be selected.
  • Map 5 Escort - Remaining Escort map not selected in Map 1 is played. Team that won map 4 selects starting side (Attack/Defend). Only Junkertown or Dorado may be selected.
  • Map 6 and 7 (if necessary) Control - Nepal

  • Friday July 27th, 4:00 PM PDT - Philadelphia Fusion vs. London Spitfire

  • Saturday July 28th, 1:00 PM PDT - Philadelphia Fusion vs. London Spitfire
  • Saturday July 28th, 3:00 PM PDT** - Philadelphia Fusion vs. London Spitfire

It looks like they are on the Contenders Finals stage, but the upper portion of the LED panels from Blizzard Arena have been installed above.

How is this going to take at least 3 hours? It’s only a max of 6 rounds, right (technically 7 I think, but that’s basically impossible)

Is it lame that I got goose bumps from that? Cuz I did. I’m so hyped for this! I don’t even like either of these teams but this is awesome!!
