Pharah single handedly ruins the competitive experience

The way I see it is that if we did make tanks have crazy high health and still have barriers, then they would need little offensive potential both with their damage and their mobility

That just wouldn’t be fun I don’t think, not in a competitive multiplayer game. In a co-op game, being the indestructible wall can definitely be fun, but it needs more spice to be fun in competitive multiplayer and that spice can’t come without drawbacks.

imagine complaining about pharah existing and not talking about how pharah needs a mercy pocket to get the most out of her, while echo and ashe exist in the game… with a mercy pocket

Yeah and there’s something called balance
That’s like me saying dps need rpg’s
And supports should all heal 150hps minimum

I’ve still not had many issues with Echo, I don’t even see her that much these days

Tanks now are basically like tanks in m+ in season 1 of SL.

“OH, BETTER NOT GET TOUCHED OR I DIE, I’M RUNNING AWAAAAAAAAAAAAY”.

You should be able to stand in open field for at least 4-5 seconds, without any healing, before you die. Currently you get blasted to hell and beyond just by peaking around the corner to check where the enemies are. There’s almost no difference between playing a DPS and a tank in time spent hiding around corners, which is dumb.

well echo is one of the only dps you can play without hard trolling/throwing the game for everyone… sooo

Okay so you want tanks to be able to stand in an open field for atleast 4-5 seconds without dying and I’m 100% assuming this is with the enemies all shooting you AND without healing? Do you not realize how if you would have this combined with healing and cover nothing would ever die?

aka damage sponge, playing tank is just pain and suffering.

enemy dps doesn’t even respect the presence of tanks, you’re just harassed the whole game.

it literally means there are a few characters you can pick without hard trolling/throwing games for everyone. echo, hanzo, ashe, soldier, tracer, widow… kind of the only dps you can play without hard trolling peoples games

You can block Pharah’s attacks if she’s in front, the closer she gets to get around blocking makes her easier to kill, and if she’s behind then that can definitely leave her team vulnerable to getting pushed since Pharah’s horizontal mobility is lackluster

Corners are also your friend as well as buildings, making you deal with the Pharah indirectly by forcing her to get close to attack.

Sure it would, you just need to play more strategically and actually push properly instead of just going “LOLOLOL I JUST BUSTED THAT TANK BEFORE HE COULD MAKE IT AROUND THE CORNER HE STOOD RIGHT NEXT TO AFTER WE STARTED SHOOTING”.

No strategy in the game is gonna make tanks be able to die with your suggestion
Do you realize you’re talking about having multiple characters have more health than bob + being able to move + get healed and use cover?
There’s a reason most people ignore bob instead of trying to kill him

Cassidy, Junkrat, Pharah depending on your supports, Reaper depending on enemy composition, Torb, Symmetra definitely can do work, Genji if you yourself git gud

That’s off the top of my head. Bastion and Sombra are the only damage characters that are hard to make work particularly well.

Tanks die plenty in mayhem. That’s sadly the only place where tanks actually feel anywhere close to tanks rather than just a big DPS.

Yeah cuz dps also have extra health and super low cooldowns making their damage go up by a ton :joy:

All I can say is that there’s a reason she isn’t more popular, and it’s not because people are being honorable by choosing not to use her
