I accept every match initialization as a loss, and work from a “ground-up” principle.
Basically, if I get to leave spawn it’s a gg.
If I get to even kill 1 thing despite oppressingly negative k/d, it’s a gg.
If I touch point? gg.
If our team even managed to stay connected, or was hosted right, and someone didn’t get flamed with 5+ other false reports? That’s a gg.

most of my career is SOLO Q.
There is no actual “surviving” only utilizing tools that are available.
-
Private profile.
-
MUTING all chat channels.
-
Playing OPEN Q only.
-
Reporting players for acting crude n rude.
-
PRESSING “LEAVE MATCH” and often.
It is a pain dealing with this game because a person can easily tell if they are facing a team of friends and often times if you get a good play, suddenly the entire enemy team focuses me, and when they do it OVER and Over again. And are going out of their way to find me. I report them for griefing and just leave.
Blizzard has ZERO interest cleaning up the actual environment of the game and it will always be in this state of Decline because they dont want to split the Q. of Solos vs Premades. Much like they took ZERO iniative to maintain PvP in world of warcraft.
The thing is, they want to attract the pvp players to the game. But they dont want to MAINTAIN the player base once they established it. Same goes for WoW.
It has never been peace among players, just worlds.

I exclusively solo queue and have done since I got the game 6 years ago.
I never once have turned comms on. Text or voice. They are completely pointless and make most people play worse. If you have them turned on you should turn them off. Game is 100000 times more enjoyable and immersive.
You miss out on absolutely nothing having them off. Almost everything you could want to or need to communicate the game does for you already or you can use comms wheel.
I think some people actually like the toxicity though or they woulda just turned it off already.
Because I have them off always and always solo queue game is the same as it has always been which prior to OW2 was my fave game ever.

I don’t… every couple or few weeks I log in for a couple hours, end up leaving every match because 1 or 2 minutes in it’s clear that the enemy team is all higher level players or stacks and the game is a premade steamroll, and then I close the game again knowing the liars (formerly OW devs) have still done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to make the games balanced, fair, or even realistic for one side to even leave spawn.

If you invite people to a group and they are already in a group it will say “player already in group” if it doesn’t say that, then it means they are solo.

I don’t care about any of that enemy team.my team are all npc bots to me, unless they go out of their way to e helpful or nice then i elevate them to living creature status

I do not care if I win or not usually. Just grinding xp. The only reward for winning is more xp. And I would tilt more if winning meant so much more.
But I just try to enjoy the game. Sometimes I just want to get better at a character. Sometimes I’m just grinding xp for the battlepass. Sometimes I will chase achievements. Somedays I just want to play my favorite heroes. Some days I want to try new stuff out, or heroes I suck with.

Play a game, results determine:
- if i curl up and cry
- Log off
- Play another
But give yourself a self imposed limit, say complete the daily challenges and log off.
so whenever i play comp i solo queue
i just try to keep a healthy mindset and that’s how i improved
first thing is that i’m playing to win so i avoid social interactions that would reduce my odds of winning
if someone says something toxic in voice chat i just mute them if others are getting affected i just leave voice chat i don’t need to hear what they’re saying and arguing back means you’re focusing on the wrong thing and you wouldn’t be able to play as well
if the toxicity is directed at me either it’s because i’m doing poorly, they don’t understand how i should be playing or they just want to pass the blame for the loss they’re taking…
if i’m doing poorly i try not to get upset and try to learn how not to repeat those mistakes… i gotta learn somehow right?
if their complaint about my performance is unfounded i just put it behind me and move on to the next game
i mean it was a thing in ow1 but we have the ping system now just ping stuff and you’re good
and most of the combos people use at silver-diamond level don’t need a lot of communication e.g. genji says i have blade? nade him when you think the time is right
one reason why i prefer solo queueing is because i don’t wanna feel like i’m getting carried by my friend(s) or that they’re holding me back
in the last season i played about 200 games i got placed in silver 5 (hadn’t played comp since 2017) and i climbed all the way up to diamond 1 and finished at diamond 3 so it’s not like it’s impossible to rank up
the matchmaker screws everyone over!
last season i was playing a game at like 1-2 pm and our team was all diamond level players and their team had a t500 ball player and a low plat soldier and the soldier was shocked as to why he was put in that game
even if you’re playing w/ a full 5 stack of plat players that doesn’t mean the other team isn’t going to have a masters and a gold player in it

Not possible. Solo queue in this game is just bad for your mental health.

I basically play until I start to not have fun anymore, then I switch to a single player game. Sometimes I get 2 matches of Overwatch, and sometimes it can be 20.
But at the end of the day I realize that since I primarily solo queue, I will be at a disadvantage for alot of my matches. I just pray that one day Blizzard will treat Overwatch like a fully developed game and will create an actual queue for solo players only.

Sanity? Never heard of her.
For reals though, solo queue can be a miserable experience. I only do it because every other person I know has quit OW.

Me too. Everyone I used to play with abandoned the game.

Not going to lie I generally prefer solo queuing at least in comp. I only have myself to blame or worry about. When I play with friends I know we’re more likely to be matched against stacks many of whom have comp-based gameplans and are looking to synergise and play together. I have zero interest in trying to brow-beat my friends into playing like that, but I know we can lose games because of it. On the other hand when we win because we’re stacking I don’t feel much like I earned it.
