I don’t really care why. The biggest reason it has issues now is that people aren’t using it. Let people have the tools to make it so they only have people they want to on their team or at least help them curate who they play with and if you don’t want to use it then you don’t have to. Any system like that will have potential issues that arise and will still need to be updated to better fit needs and even if not there will always be ways it can be improved. That’s still true with the in game LFG.
I used LFG in my final push to Diamond. Works very well to find a two tank/support trio
Because sometimes 2-2-2 is good. I’m not against those who run it as sometimes it’s needed to counter the enemy comp, just like Triple Support, DPS, or Tank is at times.
Because it’s a faster queue for the same thing. I usually join intent on playing DPS but I always flex.
Sometimes I get 1-4-1 or 1-3-2
I usually fill what we need. For instance, if I’m one of the 4 DPS, I’ll switch to supportl
2-2-2 is just more fun.
Open Queue = Democracy
Role Queue = Communism
The people have spoken.
Long Live Democracy!
people will go with good comps to win, if 222 is good then they will run it, doesn’t matter if it’s OQ
And why not?
The purpose of Open Queue is to play whatever dafuq comp. If that happens to mean 2-2-2, then it’s legit. The mode is already a trash clownfiesta of a joke, the last people you should be upset at are those who actually try to make it somewhat sensible.
Agency and choice are king in OQ. Play what you want. The original No Limits mode that the game launched with is still better, imo. Im so glad it rotates in every other day now instead if once or twice a week.
The issue wasn’t that they couldn’t get their teammates to play 222. Thats the easy part. The issue became that they couldn’t force the other team to be 222 also, which was unfair to them.
I still believe we need to bring No Limits in as the 3rd main competitive mode. I’m not happy until I see my 4 Torbjrons on the payload with 2 Orisa/Rein Barriers shielding it, lmao.
222 is one of many compositions that can be played in 222
There is no rule saying a team cant play 222 in role-less queue mode
Ok. The people liked it as it is and used it as it is a lot.
It stopped because people left teams as soon as they lost one match, people got frustrated by other people. They realized that no LFG can stop that and so they stopped using LFG.
But feel free to explain how a LFG tool could look like not resulting into the same failour. What do you think can be better to make the difference?
After seeing some of the drama in guilds or clans in other games, I think you are right. It could work for a select, exclusionary group of people, but not any better than a discord or reddit group. Why expend the resources in that case? They already have OWL and contenders.
I feel that many people would be excited by the idea of clan features until they realized that the majority of players are either looking to get boosted or dont really care about their rank that much.
It’s crazy that this team-only game is a Blizzard game without clans, while an ARPG game like Diablo 3 has full support. When I think about the unrealized potential of OW, it’s stuff like this at the top of the list.
Any time I see clans mentioned, some idiot pops up and says “it wouldn’t change anything, people didn’t even use LFG” or “just use your friends list.” Neither of those things is a replacement for having a group of like-minded players all connected to each other every time they log in. Adding someone to my friends list doesn’t add them to the lists of all my other friends, nor does it unite us all under one banner (identity).
I never said an lfg was the only tool needed, clans and other tools to both encourage team play and help people curate their teams and build an identity/chemistry with their teammates would be necessary and greatly help the game in the long run. If you wouldn’t use them that’s fine and on you, let the people who want to use them have them. It wouldn’t affect you at all.
i like to play open que because of the freedom associated with it, i can change to my best characters across all roles if needed, it doesnt get as stale as role queue, and if in the character select screen 2-2-2 is whats popping up thats ok because its a balanced comp
i dont play open queue because i despise having 2-2-2? weird thing to think
I think what OP is looking for is 2 - 1 - 3
I think that people should be entitled to run whatever comp they wish to run in open queue. Indeed that is part of the whole point of the mode. Having the freedom to run any composition one decides to run. However I would say that it isn’t really the most optimal comp.
The more optimal composition is 3 2 1 although it is generally best for players to play which ever heroes they are best at
I think that almost any composition can work but it is absolutely essential that players do not simply give up based simply on their composition because really you can make anything work and that is why open queue is really much better in my opinion than roleq you
The most important part of open Q is that you have fun and enjoy the match regardless of what your composition happens to be and this will enable you to in fact win more games because when you are having fun you are more engaged with the game and paying attention to it making less mistakes and you will be Able to climb the ladder much more easily with this mindset rather than focusing on what the rest of your team is doing at all times. This mindset is far more beneficial
It does sometimes occur that people will be very insistent on a specific composition but I tend to not really listen to them or if they are very insistent then I would recommend simply muting the chat and the voice chat
Because I love stacking with my friends in open queue playing a proper main tank with proper supports, against a team that thinks a solo tanking Hog and a reddit Lucio for your only support is somehow a good idea in any world.
Seriously, I should do it more often.
