With the cost in resources and time that now goes into killing a tank, being able to press a button and bring it back to life at full health is even more stupid than it ever was before in OW2.
It can take so much effort to kill the tank now, and they are buffing them to make them even harder to kill, yet mercy can swoop in and bring them back to life with 1 button click.
At least consider bringing tank back with less health, or making it so the health builds the longer she holds the rez.

If your team allows the tank to be rezed i think thats more on the team that let it happened as that should be decently rare

Why repeat that nonsense. So often there is zero your team can do. She can rez from above on a bridge, from behind a wall or any cover, and often she can rez in the middle of the team because she now has more HP and takes longer to kill and the rez time is so quick.
Saying that if you don’t stop her it’s your fault is just silly in many situations. It is a free rez.

Ah yes rezing from cover. Whats stopping your team from taking that space and denying it when they dont have a tank and you do? Im not saying the odd rez wont happen but what you describe is more so for dps sitting back a bit. Free rez on the tank in the front line is generally preventable

I do think OP is simplifying things a bit, but you’re also making a super dishonest counter argument. Obviously there are times you can punish a Mercy if she is doing a bad rez in a bad position, but to act like the enemy Mercy is only able to rez someone because you “allowed her to” is pretty nonsensical. It’s really not that simple and just because your tank dies doesnt mean they died in a bad position right in front of the enemy team with clear line of sight where the entire enemy team can just rush in with no consequences to kill her within 2 seconds.
This is a very “just win, 4head” style argument.

Id say as you go up in ranks what im saying becomes more true than not. Its not just about punishing the rez but taking the space so it cant happen in the first place.

Didn’t tanks just get stronger? Shouldn’t both tanks be uber right now?
Or does this only apply to their team for some reason?
Rez is fine, and easier to deny with how fat tanks are now.
Mercy averages something like 4 rezes per game - it is likely lower at high ranks and higher at low ranks. Getting a tank back, which is usually the case, 4 times a game in their new raid-boss state is about as broken as you can get on a simple button click.
???
you can stun her, knock her out of range, kill her, hacker her
And my personal favorite build a wall right under the rez target, that then lifts it out of her range. Canceling the whole effect. usually confusing the mercy to no end.
If you killed the enemy tank, you should have the space to push in and keep that from happening, with ease.
And simply get the kill on mercy for trying.

How many of those rez are on a tank though? And not a pocketed dps? Id say as you go up in rank its more likely to be the latter
yeah no one is ressing tanks in higher ranks dude. that might change now but like, 1 why are you running mercy if not for damage boost ( or well, why are you running mercy period if we are being real) and 2 how often does tank die in a ressable position?
Well, if this was always possible then at GM mercy would never get a rez off. But strangely she does, and not too infrequently either. So you seem to be saying that GM players don’t know how to stop rez or they just can’t be bothered?
These kinds of general statements about “just do X” are so naive and pointless.

yeah on the ranged hitscan she is pocketing, not the frontline

A GM mercy usually doesn’t get to rez the tank, outside of off chances a cassidy ult or mei ult /wall clears the way for you to do so.
It’s very on the spot really situational scenario, where most people would be backing out or attempt to clean up what they already started. As you need someone to make room for you to do that.
Or for them to die in very specific spot like next to a wall or corner you can break LOS with.
Rez is ultimately most consistent on smaller heroes for that reason.
(It’s possible just very unlikely)
You are delusional, I see plenty of mercys rezzing tanks in GM. I watch Cyx on hog frequently and it’s not uncommon for him to get anywhere from 2 to 5 rezzes in a game. In some games he never goes back to spawn because each death is rezzed.
the only time I see a mercy res a tank is in spawn after the enemy won first fight. usually on payload maps because they backed off after winning the fight to set up again and 9 times out of 10, it saves around 6 seconds at most and are typically just a waste of the cd.
and where are those reses taking place? did the enemy back off? did they engage someone else that took attention away from the res? no decent player is killing a tank and not at least half watching the body if a mercy is on the enemy team.

You don’t even need to kill her to deny a rez, boop het away from her target.
Half of the dps roster has abilities that you can boop her away with, and half of those have good movement to peek over walls and get on bridges easily.
There are 6 supportd that can move and boop mercy away from her target, denying the rez.
9 tanks are capable of denying a rez with booping or just out right stunning her.
That’s 23 heroes that can deny a rez without using ults. And then there’s widow who can sometimes just headshot her.
Its always “the enemy tank is a god, my tank is useless” on this forum. I remember when DPS mains would unironically say both “Supports should heal less and shoot more” and “my supports should hard pocket me so we can win” in the same post.

Its sound advice and normal once you are decent at the game
. Guarentee most of those rez the gm gets are not on a tank.
Lol mercy can pretty much be on the other side of the map with the Line of sight being so lax for rez. Any mercy that’s not on one braincell can rez safely these days. Plus theres lamp, pull, nade, ice sheild, genji deflect, soldier pool. all that.
