Paladins is better

I completely love the card system, INCREDIBLY unbalanced, but a lot of fun. Can change how a hero functions to fit your own personal play style of how you want them to play. One of the only aspects of Paladins I genuinely and truly thought was superior to OW.

Ah yes, because a completely different game that is named after twelve fictional knights of legend, the foremost members of Charlemagne’s court in the 8th century. But has nothing to even do with what it got it’s name from, is always better than a game that also has nothing to do with it, but just so happens to have similar mechanics.

If you are sarcasm challenged, that was sarcasm people.

Other sandbox games and Minecraft fanboy kiddies all over again…

You said in a different thread that you don’t know that person when someone else called you out for being “friends”.

If you’re gonna go to the effort of trolling this hard and pretending to be two seperate people, you should really try to make one of those people a lot more different than you instead of a carbon copy with the exact same opinions, manner of speaking, and paragraph formatting but a different profile pic and name. Just saying.

Ok but what can the devs do with this info? Looking back to 2020 even during a global pandemic they were able to give us a lot of content this year, constant workshop updates, seasonal events and even the mini-events like Symmetra’s and Tracer’s one. They definitely don’t care about Paladins and are working hard on Overwatch 2

Quantity over quality I guess is the preference here lol.

I wasn’t as impressed with Paladins. So many heroes feel so similar to each other. Not to mention the matchmaking seemed completely broken to me (that or there’s so few people playing there weren’t any worthy opponents to me…).

TTK is pretty high, but that’s more of a preference than anything I feel.

Both games are aggravating for similar reasons.

No one wants to play tank. Tanks get beat up a ton. Healers can be caught not healing because almost all of them have DPS options that can be pretty good. You also have late game mechanics where tanks and allies can get all healing cut off due to the reduced healing perks.

They have 44 characters, but when you combine flank + DPS you have the same thing overwatch does. For everyone 1 support you have 2 DPS. For everyone 1 tank you have 2 dps.

Despite having only 5 characters and open queue style the 2/2/2 concept still finds its way into being the tended towards meta.

Paying for all heroes to be unlocked now and in future is akin to paying for OW full price. However, OW was a one time purchase compared to Paladin’s routine battle pass style where several skins are locked behind it. There are arguably more time gated content in Paladins you can never get again compared to overwatch.

In terms of map selection Overwatch has a bit more variety. Paladin’s various map types are heavily skewed towards its hybrid (aka siege) style with 14 maps compared to the other 4 maps per mode. Some are actually reused designs for different styles. Though Overwatch did that by turning say King’s Row / Hollywood into a ffa style map. Though FFA is not considered a staple gameplay mode for team play.

I know next to nothing about Paladins lore or anything. Not even sure if any of it exists or what might be alluded to at all. Looking around OW maps I know you can find little bits of stuff that pertain to the world OW was build around and such. There are lots of character interactions within OW games at the start of matches that give you some level of understanding of character relations. There were even some of the story building comics, articles, and unique game modes.

There is just something about OW that feels more fulfilling, but I played Paladins for like 100-200 hr compared to probably nearly 2000 hrs of OW across 5 years. So, I am probably more bias.

OW2 copied paladins with the different uses of ultimates is almost similar to the paladins legendary card system

There you see, we have a case of “more skins, better game”, I played paladins for over 2 years, I played the game on its prime, when it was this huge insane game, and after 2 years I couldn’t take it anymore, the game came to a spot where having 1 fair match is impossible, the heroes are super unbalanced with the older ones being complete trash while the new ones having insane abilities, the game was so insanely unbalanced that people started leaving, I left when Imani was released, because she to me was just the nail in the coffin, some of her base abilities are so op that they were better than some ultimates, the same goes for tyberius, he was and still is literally genji on crack, way way more op than genji but the devs don’t care about that at all, they said it themselves, “We want to make as much skins as possible before people leave” they knew people would leave the game but they didn’t care, they only cares about skins.
It’s sad truly paladins was a big part of my childhood and too see the game that I played so much be literally unplayable to me, it’s just sad.

next champion in paladins is hammond but scarier, apparently its some giant worm that can roll like that pokemon whirlipede. Imagine if overwatch put new heroes in the pace of paladins. This game would feel so fresh

Androxus is an exception as he’s an old hero. Imani was also bottom tier at one point and tiberius is a decent champion but hitscan are still better. Not all new heroes are OP.
Raum- Feed
Atlas- Really hard to play
Corvus- Yeah i agree OP
Vora- pretty balanced
Tiberius- kinda gimicky
Older heroes like zhin, androxus, inara, jenos, shalin have all been released 2-3 years ago and are still really good

The more unique skins and game modes are great but the overreliance on MOBA elements and the battle passes are beyond bad.

And dont say that OW copied Paladins. It was an entirely different game until OW beta came out so they completely rearranged the game to capitalize on the new game trend. The same happened with PUBG and Fortnite.

I played Paladins a good bit a few months ago. It can be fun in its own way, but I believe OW is a better game overall. I hated the pacing of Paladins; it felt very bad to me. If you lose one fight on the objective, you pretty much lose the capture part of the round.

Utlimately you should play whichever game you personally like the most. In my opinion Overwatch is a better game than Paladins overall though. The engine is better, the gunplay is better, the game is more polished, and the gameplay is more enjoyable.

Paladins has cool heroes and more balanced supports/ tanks ( no Sigma )
their maps are far worse, same with gametypes.

And yet here you are. In the Overwatch forum instead of playing Paladins.

Weird how that is

Then it changed, I don’t know half the heroes you said, I haven’t played in a while, I remember when I played tyberius and imani were dominating and were everywhere, idk if the game is better balanced now but from what I’ve seen in the past I would rather play anything else instead of paladins, the game had so many bugs too but they never even bothered to fix them, everything just made playing the game such a bad experience I wouldn’t want to come back to it for anything in the world
For example I remember mogi and koga being completly brain dead, literally even worse than brig kinda of brain dead, and still dealing tons of damage and being insanely op, idk if they still are but the fact mogi and koga could simply press 2 keys for the entire game and keep dealing tons and tons and tons of damage the entire game without any kind of effort or skill completly killed the game dead to me, tyberius I find it hard to believe he is bad now. Considering he was the same case just keep spamming and pressing 1 key and do massive amounts of damage without any effort, idk about the others I don’t even know who they are, but just these 3 cases makes the game miserable in my opinion

This was just awesome… should be stickied at the top of the forums for all to see.

Yes - I think its hilarious when people feel the need to do it. Its literally trolling at that point, but I refuse to be like the other mongrels on the forum and just tag it as such out of hand.

All the heroes I mentioned except one came before tiberius but OK and also he isn’t bad he’s a good projectile.

I don’t remember vora, maybe they did I might not remember them, I remember a fox girl is that her?

TIL people cannot play two games without making comparisons.

It’s really just personal preference.
