Packet loss and Connection Icons constantly

I’ve been playing Overwatch 2 since around release and have had minimal issues.

Since the last update that included the year of the Rabbit content I have been barley able to play the game consistently because of packet loss and connection issues that the game is showing in the top left corner I am having. I don’t experience these issues with any other game.

I have done the common overwatch connection issue steps to try and remedy the situation but to no avail. I have done speed tests and packet loss test outside of the game and I’m showing all green on my end. Not sure what I should do.
It’s literally a throw for my team and I’ve left (haven’t even touched comp since issues started) to try and give them the fair shot they deserve and have received penalties over it. I’m not upset about the penalties, I get it. I just want to be able to enjoy the game.

I don’t see any obvious problems happening in the MTR test. Have you tried disabling background programs while testing the game?

I’m seeing 100 and 97 % losses on zayo second and third, but I’m not in IT so I won’t speak to what that might mean, just stands out.

Yes though, I have. I also submitted a ticket with all the data I’m supposed to send and it’s not showing up as active or archived. I’m not really sure what else I can do here. So thanks for the responses I guess.

Howdy DrunkeBadger,

To clarify, the 97-100% packet loss is due to how those routers are configured to respond to ICMP tests that are addressed directly to those routers. Normal data isn’t addressed to them and is passed along normally, which is why the subsequent lines drop back down to 0% loss. This configuration is to help mitigate DDoS attacks where ICMP packets are sent to those exterior routers to flood the network. These ICMP packets are treated as lower priority, so are dropped or ignored by these routers.

As for the ticket, it looks like there was a response and you need to reply to the ticket. If you aren’t seeing it in the ticket history, you may be on the EU region website instead of the US region.
