Idk man maybe mercy is not fine if pro player who’s under a contract to not be toxic would go so far as to break said contract to harrass a player for daring to play her.
Just a thought. Not the first time I see people harrassing mercy players.
I’m not saying that the harrassment is justified because Hoshi played a character Viol2t deemed garbage, nothing justifies harrassment like this. I am just wondering if to a pro player Mercy is actually so garbage that it in his mind it justified him losing it like that. If mercy was actually fine, he would not have made such a huge deal about it.

Just so you know. Your takeaway applies to Genji as well. Pro players thought Genji was trash before he got buffed as well.

I mean, you have to take advantage of the circumstance if it’s available. That’s just min/maxing and a pro move. Doesn’t mean they think it’s a skillful character or that she should be where she is… she’s just a tool to be used.

If you want the best chance of winning, you play whatever’s overpowered. You don’t have to also like that it’s overpowered.

Mercy is doing fine on ladder as well, still trash in pro’s eyes.
And the fact that Genji got nerfed a month after kind of debunked your conspiracy theory…and that’s all I will say about that dumb connection that so many of you tried to make.

Ah yes, the nerf that made her worse to play against because she has her ult up every fight, but made her less effective as a DPS enabler so it just made things worse for all DPS but genji who has been able to delete every hero in a 1v1 very easily, whcih also meant she’s been a must pick to try and do something about him and so it’s been seen every game.
I wish they’d revert that change and go for one of the many iterations suggested to them in place of completely removing the overheal effect; they made her weaker without making her get ult every fight, and also kept her in a niche without breaking the game at the same time.
Yet these people praised the change as the end of briggite.

Of course not. Not just pros. Even high GM tanks like Harbleu and emongg thought Genji was trash.

I really doubt the pros and high-level streamers would be so oblivious to ignore hard data that we have on Genji’s performance. If they thought he was trash, either they were disingenuous or simply don’t understand how the game works as well as they think they do. Then again, we’ve seen this quite often, so that wouldn’t surprise me, either.

What I got from this thread is that there are a lot of snowflakes in the OW community. If you think what violet or any1 else say is toxic, you wouldn’t last 2 seconds in the 360 and ps3 days.

It’s actually incredible that you think they look at Genji in a 1v1 context and not what he can bring to the team.
Come on, that’s forum people’s way of looking at a hero. Even GM supports didn’t think Genji(pre-buff) was overpowered even though he’s good vs supports.
