You need to remember that people can watch those games in other platforms too than just twitch btw.
Why you need to be so negative if something like ‘‘viewers’’ went down for a bit?

yes youre right… its summer, people going to the lake and chill in the sun… then they take their TVs with them and watch it on disney…
The devs are working on Overwatch 2, or whatever it is going to be called. That why we don’t hear much from them anymore.

Imagine having an esport team in this league with a 20-30+ million investment and wondering to yourself whether the owners/creators of the league actually still believe in it.

It really depends upon what is sustainable and where all the viewing sources are and such. OWL has proven successful I think on being able to garner more attention from other organizations. You have ESPN and Disney in on this for televised broadcasting. Its more outlets to reach more people. More teams were expanded. The teams are more balanced as well this time around. The gap between top and bottom doesn’t feel as drastic this time around.
In summer there are also more people with free time in their hands so that is not really an excuse.

Ofc im right.
But theres people who just going to chill too & not watch tv or spend time beeing outside doing something else or midsummers day so some of us might not even watch owl at all when its on this weekend.
Its not that bad if the viewers go down for a bit. Just wait & see till they go up again specially when its stage playoffs & grandfinals.
Hoping that other people will fail ? That’s the most childish thing I ever saw, and it’s going rempant on forums nowadays.

But is this for all channels? As far as I know you can watch OWL in a wide range of languages, each with its own Twitch AND watch it in the Twitch channel of some (if not all) teams too. (Not even including TV)

You obviously haven’t seen how big DoTA and other game’s stadiums are, both the Internationals and the majors. While I can’t say much about OWL since I’m new here, a lot of DoTA players watch pros because of their really good plays and the match ups are really entertaining. Look just how big the people who came to the finals are:
Some of those viewers came from other countries. The stakes are high with a total of 25 million dollars in prize. These guys are millionaires, these teens you mock have ferraris most plebs here will never be able to afford. I am honestly amazed how big the ESPORT scene is for other games.

OW is not a fun game to watch competitively. Yes, videos where you can hear the players’ commentary can be entertaining, but it’s usually not the gameplay that is entertaining you, it’s usually what’s being said. That’s the issue with OW. It’s just not entertaining even when watching pros.

Geez, Soe’s a really good caster and her predictions are often spot on y’know? She’s not just some pretty face to strut about for you, she’s a competent professional, show some respect to a lady this isn’t some trashy boys club.

no it is specificly said in the reddit topic that the analyse is for the main twitch channel… i have not had the time to look at the other channel and i also dont know what the other channels are called … if you have the data i will add it to the topic.
also i dont know if there is data for the tv numbers.
I don’t have the data. Was mostly pointing it out.
For example, I have a friend that at first watched OWL in english, but he now watches it in portuguese because he didn’t know that option.
she adds nothing to the professional casters tho…
she just looks like tracer and thats it.
Whoa that’s harsh, no way man, Soe brings a lot of good insight to the OWL commentary and makes good predictions, not to mention having a bright and energetic personality. She’s also articulate, knowledgeable, funny, I mean seriously you guys make it sound like she’s just a stage prop, nobody here could do better.

no her analysis of the games are most time pretty bad … she just looks nice, is a nice person and works torwards having a nice atmosphere…
she adds nothing to the professional game analysis.
her current role shows it…
i would love to see a female caster who is actually good in casting like uber.

Uhh she doesn’t actually cast the live matches like Uber, she does analysis commentary at the casters desk with Malik, Bren, Puckett, Sideshow, etc. And her breakdowns are spot on, she brings up relevant statistics, matchups, not to mention when they do the match predictions bit she regularly gets them right compared to the other casters.
I mean I almost feel like we’re not watching the same show here, she’s just as good as the other analysts, they’re equals in every respect.
