OWL: SHD vs. LAV, NYE vs. SEO - NOW LIVE!

Note: This thread is to serve as a temporary match discussion thread for the above named match until such time as WyomingMyst or his designee creates the official match discussion thread or announces that this thread is to serve as the official match discussion thread.

Hello, everyone, and welcome to Day 1 of Week 2 of APAC June Joust qualifiers. For the first match of our doubleheader, we have the top dog, the Shanghai Dragons, taking on the worst team in APAC (and arguably the worst overall) Los Angeles Valiant. This one has much potential to be a very one-sided affair, but we’ll see how it goes. Let’s get this payload moving, folks!

Then we have the New York Excelsior taking on the Seoul Dynasty. Both teams are middle of the pack and would both do well to get a victory. Who will win? Only one way to find out.

*REMINDER: For the June Joust, the Overwatch League is doing hero pools, and as a result Sombra, Tracer, Reinhardt, and Zenyatta are taking an early summer vacation. We apologize to those fans who may or may not be looking for epic shatters or epic pulse bombs/EMPs.

No Fleta? Hope he’s alright

WhoRU is not very good, but LA Valiant is worse. So Shanghai Dragons have this easy.

Probably doing this right now…

Tell me… too soon?

It was never alive to begin with.

Silver3 needs to get the f---- off Hammond. He’s doing nothing.

Dang it Dragons… quit playing with your food…

Dragons had 6 ultimates banked up near the end. I don’t think they were playing to win.

The Dragons play with their food a bit (probably to give us the opportunity to earn back some lost tokens from yesterday), but the result was never in doubt. The Los Angeles Valiant are still searching for their first victory…

FINAL (Game 1)

Busan (Control): Shanghai Dragons 2, Los Angeles Valiant 0.

Rialto (Escort): Shanghai Dragons 3, Los Angeles Valiant 1.

Volskaya Industries (Assault): Los Angeles Valiant 1, Shanghai Dragons 1 (DRAW).

Numbani (Hybrid): Shanghai Dragons 1, Los Angeles Valiant 0.

FINAL SCORE: Shanghai Dragons 3, Los Angeles Valiant 0

SHANGHAI DRAGONS WINS!

Next up, we have the New York Excelsior taking on the Seoul Dynasty. Let’s get started.

Fleta is meta -> Fleta picked Torb -> Torb is meta

Alright everyone, enjoy the second match, I will catch up on it during the encore tomorrow.

Also, send me your positive energy, I may need it in the days to come.

Man, they’re really out here trying to use the whole hero roster (bans excluded) in the NYXL vs Dynasty game.

Sending positive vibes your way, captain.

Yes, and with Torb also selected in the first match this morning, I’m afraid the competitive ladder is going to be a grand mess this long weekend.

Also, we regretfully must confirm that a Charlie Niner is on the ground in Hanamura, with a snowman’s head seen flying over New York City.

In other news, MATCH POINT heading into Map 4.

AFTER MAP 3

Oasis (Control): Seoul Dynasty 2, New York Excelsior 1

Junkertown (Escort): New York Excelsior 3, Seoul Dynasty 2

Hanamura (Assault): Seoul Dynasty 1, New York Excelsior C9 (0)

MATCH SCORE: Seoul Dynasty 2, New York Excelsior 1

NEXT UP: We’re going to Hollywood for Hybrid. If the NYXL wins this map or the map ends in a draw, we go to Overtime and a 5th Control map tiebreaker will be played. Seoul Dynasty are on MATCH POINT.

The Seoul Dynasty crush the NYXL’s hopes and dreams in extra innings on Hollywood, and the Seoul Dynasty take the match.

FINAL

Oasis (Control): Seoul Dynasty 2, New York Excelsior 1.

Junkertown (Escort): New York Excelsior 3, Seoul Dynasty 2.

Hanamura (Assault): Seoul Dynasty 1, New York Excelsior 0.

Hollywood (Hybrid): Seoul Dynasty 4, New York Excelsior 3.

FINAL SCORE: Seoul Dynasty 3, New York Excelsior 1

SEOUL DYNASTY WINS!
