So your rebuttal to the argument is “why bother?” and thus the reason is why do it. If the only thing is “Why bother, more less saying I’m to lazy and insert words here”
That mind set is why most if not everyone doesn’t climb in ranked or just flat out do anything in life. Life is hard, you have to work. This game is a team based game, everyone has to work. Put in the work for once lol.
No…im saying it doesn’t actually solve anything so there’s no point…let alone “bothering”
A reset comes with the same exact matchmaking mess in the first few days/weeks while it sorts out….actually you could argue it’s worse because despite the games being “different” there’s still PLENTY of carryover and the gap to your “actual rank” will more than likely be smaller if left untouched than a full on reset….in either scenario you’ll still end up where you belong (the part that everyone hates hearing)
I’m not a dev so I don’t know how much work it means for them….but it’ll be pointless for them as well (and they prob feel that way as well if they’re not doing it)
For the record I’m gold and have nothing to lose or gain from a reset or lack thereof….
The only people benefitting from a hard reset are boosters that will swim in money from all the players that want back to their old rank in no time, but don’t want to spend weeks on the grind if they are 51% winrate players.
I don’t see how resetting the tiny bit of remaining balance that built up over he past 6 years and making the entire ladder a chaotic mess for weeks and months is a good idea. You wanna wait another 6 years just to see it ends up just the same when they have a f2p model that will have even more burner and boost accounts?
They can’t just put everyone back to gold and hope that magically fixes every problem. And f2p players will certainly not all have the patience to stick with the frustrating nature of the game, leave or take a bunch of points on the ladder and then disappear.
