Currently in OW2 there seems to be an abundance of Damage above all else, with little regard to any other core aspect of the game (Tank, Support).
Overall reduction of anti-dive, global damage increases, global ult gen nerfs, heal reduction, 6v6 to 5v5 are all key distinctions lost to OW2 and a promoter of the current environment.
The state of the game seems at its most unhealthy, over congested with DPS so much in fact that distinguishing overwatch from any other fps is effectively becoming evanescent or hard to distinguish unlike it’s counterpart OW1.
Explanation:
-
Tanks are somewhat in an ok state considering they all have generic increases in health/minor kit tweaks.
-
Some DPS characters lack heavily while others are granted access to one shot potential.
(Referring to 150 - 200HP) -
Support definitely falls short unless you are willing to play Ana, Bap, Kiriko, Zen at higher Ranks.
(Disclaimer: This doesn’t mean all other supports are bad, so chill out before we open the maelstrom of hate screaming all supports are viable. Yes, all supports are viable; however, some more than others.)
It’s not the teams faut, it’s yours if you can’t make the difference, and which support is more likely to make the difference in a general setting that isn’t circumstantial? Most likely higher damage-oriented supports.
Why should some characters be substantially more viable than others? Does that say balance to anyone? Is damage the only thing devs think about anymore?
