Who would’ve thought that buying battlepasses every season would make the numbers go up higher than games that have to be bought once and only once?
I genuinely don’t know where Blizzard finds these types of people to defend them.

That’s steam numbers and Rivals numbers aren’t even present on steam charts.
Overwatch 2 peaked with 24-25 million players within a month. Rivals not catching up because team shooters are exhausting. I tried Rivals and it isn’t any different from OW.
Same predatory shop prices, same abilities, same concept. Game just plays so choppy because of that insufferable unreal engine 5. Playing Lords of the Fallen currently and it’s just as bad on this game as Rivals. Reasons why the soulsborne games and OW are top tier is because they took the time out to create their own engine or invested in a better one than that crap.
If true. That’s good for everyone. “Competition” is healthy
Its pretty wild that Call of Duty is lower on the list than Overwatch. I always thought CoD was the bigger saler overall
Where did you saw that?
True, but I see Black Ops 6 and Warzone listed separately and don’t really know how their shop works, all I know is the amount of cosmetic bundles they sell is outlandish, and not all of it is cosmetic only. From what I understand, some weapons sold affect gameplay directly
I think there’s no chance in the world that OW is making more money than COD
google it. probably wont be hard to find
Good point. I guess if u combine all CoD games, then its still the more profitable IP. Might explain why OW mobile is in development.
I can only find it for last year, there is no info for this year. You’re inventing things.
Where are those money going to come from if the game is not evolving and more corner cutting is being added with every season?
You’re misinterprating things.
That shows that Overwatch has just turned into a microtransaction cash grab fest that only cares for the money, not the game . Exploiting a few players who agree to pay over priced skins, compensating that way the low number of players/customers.This isn’t a sign of popularity or healthy game ,just that Blizzard is focused on money
On Steam tho. This isnt accurate at all tbh. Most of PC Players are playing over Battle.net and it’s also on the game pass now which gives you a huge amounf of gifts.
Sure, Marvel has a higher player-count right now but we can’t use the steam argument only, because ow is mostly played on battle.net.
Wait what skin?
Asking for academic purposes…
If we take the % of the steam accounts per match, the game has not more than 100k in total in the very best case scenario.
That is still a far cry from the 400k that MR is getting right now (or any other game of the same caliber)
And not counting console numbers too.
To think that OW isn’t doing much worse is being delulu.
But people shouldn’t care that much, even with 10k players, as long as you can get into a match, where’s the problem … Instead of malding about Rivals, maybe they should focus on how they enjoy Overwatch
Even that has been problematic for huge part of the game’s existence and even after all the waiting you still get a match with total crap quality.
Yeah honestly seeing how sweaty my last matches were in quickplay, I can’t disagree with that
But I said that because I’m an arena-FPS guy and any game where I can actually play against anyone is good, in a casual setting that is.
This forum (and elsewhere, even beyond OW) is full of it.
Welcome to the future.
TIL Xbox is the only console.
Oh wait, no it isn’t.
The comment they were responding to
“we don’t know the revenue from console”
