After the update I played 5 games of competitive. Surprisingly went 5-0 in plat 2 (dont flame me for being bad). Expecting a nice promotion to plat 1 or even diamond 5 i was shocked to see my rank go down to plat 3. Please explain how I lost rank after winning 5 games in a row?

The likely cause of this is if you are an inactive competitive player, as MMR naturally decays if you do not play competitive frequently.
