"One person is not enough to make you win a game... but one person can make you lose a game"
This is monumentally the problem with OW. If you have one team mate who doesn’t want to play with the team or as a team, you’re destined to lose. If you have one person who has no voice coms and refuses to chat, you’re probably going to lose.
It takes more than 1 person to win a game but only one person to ruin a game.
Edit: It’s amazing to me how many are already taking this post out of context. This isn’t me “not taking responsibility for my own actions” or anything of the sorts. It’s an opinion and it’s a quote from someone who said a game is dying. I don’t see how people can be this way towards a quote and an opinion.
TIL that me having a thought makes me a hothead who can’t handle their emotions in game, even though I haven’t played for a week or two because of balance decisions.
The game won’t die because it’s on artificial life support, popularly known as E-Sports. So as long as they have the money rolling in, they don’t care about the casual market. We’re just allowed to cruise along for the ride. Whether or not we enjoy the game, is beyond the scope of care for the developers.
You haven’t seen that there’s a lot of people leaving, not only on the forums but streamers, youtubers, and a few pros (because they’re being kicked out for something stupid like a T-Shirt)? It’s amazing how people can read one misleading statistic about how many “players” OW has while people’s friend lists are full of players who haven’t played in weeks or months.
Me, specifically, 3 of the 30 people on my friends list were active in the last 2 weeks. Three. And 1 of them is on mobile and that’s the only reason they’re showing up as “active.”
How long does it take though? And what rank are you at? The last time I queued up in my MMR (Around high silver, low gold MMR), matchmaking took ~3 minutes to find me a game when it used to take me ~30 seconds. Even arcade games during an event take ~4 minutes to find a game for me.
Second, unless you double the size of teams or more, individual skill will play a big part in whether your team wins or loses. so what do you want? teams of like 15?
Well, that’s actually what “team shooter” is. If you don’t like it, you’re playing the wrong game. You need team to win. Period.
Their only mistake is that they allowed solo people to play comp. It should be strictly groups of 6 allowed into comp … clans come in mind etc.
People are consistently talking about how queue times are minutes long and often result in a landslide victory or defeat. They’ve been talking about it for months.
More likely you are just looking for scapegoats before the game even starts and playing tilted. I watch a ton of top 500 streamers and some games have crazy non stop coms and some games no one speaks at all.
Perhaps the one person ruining your games is actually you. Sounds like you need to embrace the power of a positive mental attitude.
I can’t say that I am shocked by your dismissive tone. Regardless, I hope when the smoke clears you will take a moment to evaluate how your own attitude impacts your game play and I wish you the best of luck either way.
Well, it’s two opinions vs yours - I totally agree with him/her. Your post makes it sound like you have no grasp of personal responsibility or that you’re led around by your emotions.
