They’ll remove the no limits and restrict one hero per team a few days into the event,it’s in the blog post.

you know what? you don’t know how to have fun.
i mean, it was already established that we would see a “serious” consideration of 6v6 for the future in season 14. this thing should simply be taken for what it is: ow1 day one, with its old strengths and weaknesses. wasn’t that what you were interested in? that’s fine, just don’t play it until you see testing in season 14. 
the only real criticism I would honestly make is that it was a mode to be proposed at anniversary events instead of now. but nothing else.

I interpreted that as “unless there is very little interest in it, we’ll probably bring it back at some point, but no guarantees.”
WoW Classic had a huge falloff quickly after launch, though. People came for the nostalgia and didn’t stick around once they really remembered how it was and knew the same magic could never be recaptured.

nah classic wow is really niche. Its still there but not a big game in 2024
They were not entirely wrong when they said you think you do but you dont. A ton of people did try it and quit

Classic should be a permanent mode if I’m being honest here.
Plus include Post Day 1 OW1 Heroes. (Without making them Meta) & have OW2 Heroes with “What-If” OW1 abilities & classic skins for them as well.
That would be an awesome thing really.

I stopped playing during Legion and never really looked back. FFXIV is everything WoW failed to deliver.

If it dropped off and wasn’t popular, they would’ve ended it right there and then.
If it wasn’t popular, they wouldn’t have released 4 (FOUR) major classic expansions (MOP coming next).

Blizzard deleted the game we all payed for in order to make sure you only played their new version if you still wanted to play overwatch. Now after two years they will doll out little bits of it in short events because that’s easier and cheaper than making new content and it might get more players for a limited time, meaning more engagement and potentially more sales.
I love that I will get a chance to play it again but I am sad that it won’t be a permanent mode. They are owned by Microsoft now which is a 3.14 Trillion Dollar Company. It just makes me sad having gigantic corporations like this who have more than enough money squeezing their fan base in these FOMO events. They could of course make it a regular mode, but they want to make as much as possible with spending as little money as possible.
What’s sad is they are not even unique, this is the state of AAA games and as consumers we can either play or not play, thats pretty much it. GLHF
It’s popular enough to keep running for its niche player base, but it’s nowhere close to as popular as retail, and only a tiny fraction of the people who started playing Classic are still playing it.
I’m one of the many who got to about lvl 35 then decided to quit when I couldn’t complete any quests because Horde had the guards and NPCs dead immediately on respawn. Then I remembered “Oh yeah, this game used to be busted”.

Oh, i see how it is. So because you failed to level up past 35 in Classic, you expect everyone else to quit as well.
I’m sorry to break it to you, but Classic is massively popular whether you like it or not.
As i said, if it wasn’t, they wouldn’t release multiple Classic expansions. Let that sink in for a bit.
