Hi, for a very long time I have been having an issue where Overwatch works fine for about 2 weeks, and then suddenly starts freezing, becoming laggy and choppy, fps dropping to 4-15, and model loading issues. I am tired of having to factory reset my entire PC while backing up files, it doesn’t have anything to do with storage space and I rarely change any settings on my PC, please help!
Can you check your gpu usage during play? Atm many users have this issue, low gpu usage despite the environment (not in in training stage, try on normal).

CPU - 9%
Memory - 1550 MB
Disk - 1.5 MBs
Network - 0.3 MBPS
VRM - 800 MB
GPU Temp - 46c
GPU Usage - 0 - 20 - 50 - 75% (Jumps around alot, usually at about 70%)
What resolution do you play? Have you did the test with unlocking limit of fps?
Can you paste here your hardware (cpu, gpu, ram, mobo etc) and which graphic in game settings are you playing with?
These standard tips can help resolve most Overwatch FPS drops:
- Reset Overwatch’s Video Settings
- Update your graphic card driver.
- Reset your graphic card driver settings., then make sure that your Graphic Card Driver control panel is configured correctly for Overwatch. This includes setting Overwatch at Maximum Performance (not optimal power) for Power Management and making sure it set to run on the graphics card and not the motherboard chipset.
- In drastic cases you may need to reinstall the driver and update to the most recent driver for your card. Remember to use Display Driver Uninstaller to completely clean out your old driver. Then download the most recent NVidia or AMD driver for your system.
- There have been other threads reporting that updating your system BIOS can help with some performance issues with recent patches. Please be careful if you choose to update your BIOS and look up your motherboard’s instructions on how to do this.
