Every time I launch Overwatch, it prompts me with “The application encountered an unrecoverable error. Click ‘OK’ to create a memory dump, then please share it on our support site.” I have 0 clue what caused this is for I was able to play Overwatch 1 and the Overwatch 2 Beta with ZERO PROBLEMS similar to this. I was able to play OW1 perfectly fine until servers went offline, did the pre-release content download for OW2, and haven’t been able to launch the game since.
" I thought I deleted all of my past Razer files however, I had one lingering out there that was making my game crash.
Try this:
If it doesn’t work this will tell you what is causing the crashes. Type “system information” in your search bar then File>export, save it anywhere. Open the file and scroll about 80% of the way until you see a series of dates each followed by application error, go to the time where you opened Overwatch 2, you should see “Faulting application name: Overwatch.exe” . Then keep going to the right till you see “Faulting module name:” . at least now you know what’s causing the game to crash." worked for me!
Out of all the posts this was the one that helped! Thank you. In task manager startup I disabled razer synapse, that was causing the issue.
I tried to send a support ticket for a bug and your system wouldn’t let me. It kept trying to send me to “common issues” and when I tried to make a bug report it wouldn’t allow me to submit unless I uploaded a bunch of files.
This is ridiculous.
Thank you! This is what was stopping it for me. Blizzard, please work with Sophos and get this resolved.
Apparently for me the thing causing it to crash is… Overwatch. lmao Overwatch-loader.dll is the faulting module. Great
This solved my issue
So I was having a similar issue if not the same I was completely up to date on everything and I would hit play on Overwatch 2 it would say launching, now playing the screen would go black like it was going to load the application when it just closed out sending me back to the Battlenet launcher and the button said play again no matter what I did I couldn’t figure out what was going on but I finally was able to launch the game just now. Here is what I did I got the MSInfo txt file and started looking through it surprise surprise it was RzChromaSDK64.dll file
once you look through the windows error reporting section of the MSInfo find the Overwatch error and read what application is causing the error open file explorer search on this PC for that files name and delete the file at least I deleted it and it worked I wish I could provide screenshots but it is in a cluster of data so capturing all of it would be hard.
Just look through the Windows Reporting Error section of the MSInfo txt doc which is close to the end of the doc hopefully you can figure out what is causing your issue and resolve it as soon as possible I hope this helps and I will respond to questions when I’m able to hopefully frequently if you guys have any that is.
This worked! Thank you for sharing!
ty been wondering a day how to fix
Seems to have helped me get in, so Thank You!
Thank you!! This solved my issue.
Can anyone engage with this thread please? it’s got 1.2k likes at the moment but no blizzard responses.
After checking, its Faulting module name: Overwatch-loader.dll, version: 0.0.0.0 causing the error which I cant launch the game at all.
So this is ownself pwn ownself?
Nvm: fixed can launch the game already.
Hi all - just reporting back that I’ve ‘fixed’ the issue and Overwatch launches everytime for me now.
The fix was extremely odd - in my startup items tab in Task Manager I have two ‘Nahimic VR’ entries (no idea where they came from, probably another game install but I don’t even use VR).
Via a process of elimination (and by right-clicking each and going to ‘Open File Location’) it was this specific path that was causing the issue:
C:\Program Files\Nahimic\Nahimic VR\Foundation\x64
The other instance opened one folder path above and doesn’t seem to cause a problem:
C:\Program Files\Nahimic\Nahimic VR\Foundation
As I say, no idea what it is for or what installed it but disabling the C:\Program Files\Nahimic\Nahimic VR\Foundation\x64 path version of this startup item solved the issue for me!
Hope that helps someone else!
Update: discovered Nahimic VR is a software 3D sound provider - I’ve got a SoundblasterX AE-5 soundcard, Auzentech Xi-Fi Home Theatre HD sound card (don’t ask), disabled on-board sound and of course NVIDIA has its own HDMI sound drivers so guessing one of those might have installed it - so probably unique to my quirky setup but might help someone else!
Same problem here, I’m not a tech-guy and I don’t know where and how I should put my hands in this mess. any ufficial update?
They are in panic mode while managers are fighting for their jobs because this is a total disaster
For me closing the Asus sonic studio helps (sometimes - might need to repair also)
Blizz needs to get off their bums and fix! With bad luck we need to wait next Tuesday because of maintenance… How hard can it be to fix? Tho everyone else mentioned a lot of solutions to get started with…
Litterly… reinstalled OW2… updated all drivers i could find… most of em were up to date. but did it anyways… i read “razer products might interfere”… i closed Razer Synapse… BAM… it works!
Thaank you!! <3!
