Hi there, I’ve been having some trouble with Overwatch’s performance recently.
I play the game at low settings, so I can have high framerate. 250+ uncapped but I usually cap it at 150+ since I use a 144hz monitor. Even though i have plenty of resources to run the game at a high framerate the game freezes, which is really distracting and off putting since this game is very high pace.
Here’s some evidence with the performance graph:
I know that Orange squares means connection and White squares correlate with hardware performance, but I don’t see these here. https://imgur.com/gaOxkcO
I’ve tried several things already, such as:
Restarting computer.
Scan and Repair Overwatch.
Reinstall Overwatch.
Update graphics drivers.
Downgrade graphics drivers.
Turn down settings to lowest possible.
Reduce buffering on / off.
Closing all background applications that could possibly interfere with the game.
I hope there’s something I can do about this, I absolutely love playing this game. But the game freezing at moments it matters the most is just absolutely killing it for me.
If someone out there has a solution for this, let me know. I just need to have this fixed.
The orange icon with the lightning bolt in the top right corner is notifying you of a connection problem.
This icon pulses when your client hasn’t heard from the server for a period longer than your interpolation delay. If this icon is consistently pulsing, it may indicate a connection problem, and can cause erratic behavior in game.

Try running a WinMTR and posting the results here to see if we can find the source of the issue.
Here’s my dxdiag, posted in a pastebin due to the character limit of the OW forums. I am pretty sure this isn’t a connection related issue though, as I have screenshots with without the orange symbol occuring. dxdiag - Pastebin.com
This isn’t the right test. I asked about a WinMTR.
But as long as we have this, there are a lot of errors happening on the computer:
Problem signature:
P1: Microsoft.GamingApp_2101.1002.1.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe
Problem signature:
P1: Corsair.Service.DisplayAdapter
Problem signature:
P1: LightingService.exe
Problem signature:
P1: NVIDIA Virtual Camera.exe
Problem signature:
P1: VRChat.exe
All of these are either triggering RAM usage errors or crashing. I recommend disabling some of these apps from loading at startup, especially the Corsair stats app. The LightingService is part of Aura, not sure if that’s required for something you’re using. You can review all of the errors at the end of your report.
Thank you for the quick response, I’ve already tried closing all backrgound applications aswell. unfortunately with no success. Here’s the WinTMR though, hopefully i’ve done this right:
