Overwatch PTR Patch Notes – September 24, 2019

A new Overwatch patch is in development and now available for testing! To share your feedback or report any issues, please post in the PTR Feedback or PTR Bug Report forums.

Please note that the below patch notes only include changes currently available for testing on the PTR. While many of these changes may also be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in a future patch, the PTR is PC-only and only reflects changes coming specifically to that platform.


  • Patch 1.41 is a remaster and will require a relatively large download for all platforms.



Defense Matrix

  • Regeneration rate increased from 12.5% to 16% per second
  • Delay before regeneration begins lowered from 1 second to 0.75 seconds


Protective Barrier

  • Cooldown increased from 9 to 10 seconds


Scrap Gun

  • Ammunition increased from 5 to 6.


Kinetic Grasp

  • No longer blocks Chain Hook and Whip Shot

Gravitic Flux

  • High gravity effect duration reduced from 1.2 to 0.9 seconds

Experimental Barrier

  • Regeneration rate reduced from 175 to 150 per second
  • Now has a 1 second cooldown after recalling the barrier
  • Initial 0.2 second cast time removed


Barrier Projector

  • Duration increased from 6 to 9 seconds
  • Health increased from 600 to 700


Immortality Field

  • Health decreased from 250 to 200



  • Speed boost’s effect increased from 20% to 25%

Amp It Up

  • Speed boost’s amplification increased from 50% to 60%

Wall Ride

  • Speed buff reduced from 40% to 30%



  • The extra beams created by Valkyrie now ignore enemy barriers


Biotic Grasp

  • Self-healing reduced from 30 to 20 health per second


Rocket Punch

  • Time to reach max charge increased from 1 to 1.4 seconds

The Best Defense…

  • Shield health gained per hit reduced from 35 to 30



  • Cooldown increased from 4 to 6 seconds
  • Cooldown now begins immediately upon deploying the beacon or if it is killed by an enemy


Photon Barrier

  • Duration reduced from 15 to 12 seconds
  • Health reduced from 5000 to 4000

Sentry Turret

  • Damage per second reduced from 50 to 40

Photon Projector

  • Players impacted by the primary fire beam should now hear a louder impact sound


Pulse Pistols

  • Damage falloff now starts at 13 meters, up from 10 meters



  • Fixed a player profile issue preventing hero win percentages from being displayed for competitive arcade mode seasons



  • Fixed a bug with Brigitte’s Rally checking line of sight from her feet instead of from her head
  • Fixed a bug with Inspire’s position being affected by the player’s aim pitch


  • Fixed a bug that allowed Doomfist to use Meteor Strike before taking impact damage from Sigma’s Gravitic Flux


  • Fixed a bug that allowed Sigma’s Gravitic Flux to ignore line of sight through some ceilings


  • Fixed a bug with EMP’s position being affected by player’s aim pitch


  • Fixed a bug that caused Winston’s Barrier Projector to not consistently play its destroyed visual effects

I expected compensation buffs if anything, esp compounded with nerfing double barrier which will make her weaker.

She’s going to be F tier now.

This patch looked so promising with all the tanks changes. Then I kept scrolling.


That’s an adjustment, not nerf. It’s more of a buff though, you don’t ever engage within 2 seconds often.


So let me check :

  • Pointless buffs and nerfs for all
  • Changes that don’t adress the actual issues
  • No Brigitte buffs
  • Still no new map
  • Sombra nerfs lmao

lmao cause Moira is meta cause of double shield… you nerf her.

Now once double shield isn’t meta anymore will you revert this nerf? because at high ranks she’ll be garbage again

I always feared a Moira buff because I thought it would get her nerfed, but because you add this INSANELY OP SHIELD into the game, enabling double shield meta, where Moira is obviously going to shine, you nerf her instead of realising the reason she’s strong is because of a hero you recently added.

A few months ago you were giving her some really OP buff because she wasn’t up to par with the other healers and you claimed survivability was her “thing” then she becomes meta for 5 minutes and then you nerf this survivability. What exactly is Moira’s utility? are you going to tell us now it’s being able to heal/attack through shields because of this meta that sigma caused?


I feel like a the D.Va buff is like a consolation prize that people can point to and say “D.Va does get buffs!”
I’m not sure this will actually help her problems.

Also, I see they did not fix Mercy’s damage boost not giving ult charge. Is this a permanent change?


It’s put on a 6 second cooldown when it’s blown up.


But Cooldown begins immediately upon deploying the beacon?


Read the second bit, the cool down starts sooner… As soon as you drop it the 6 second cool down timer starts, currently once the translator is broken/used the cool down starts. You can get back into the fight faster in most scenarios.


Yes, and if the beacon is blown up, it’s put back on cooldown.
