Overwatch PTR Patch Notes – May 9, 2019

A new Overwatch patch is in development and now available for testing! To share your feedback or report any issues, please post in the PTR Feedback or PTR Bug Report forums.

Please note that the below patch notes only include changes currently available for testing on the PTR. While many of these changes may also be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in a future patch, the PTR is PC-only and only reflects changes coming specifically to that platform.



  • Fixed a bug where the “Team” parameter for an “Ongoing - Each Player” event was not being honored if the “Player” parameter specified a hero.
  • Fixed a bug where equality between two vectors was sometimes false when it should have been true.
  • Fixed a bug where the “Start Accelerating” action was not always honoring the “Relative” option.
  • If the same instance of a “Start Accelerating” action executes multiple times, it will now restart the action with the new values rather than stack an additional copy.
  • Reenabled script validation.

Thank you for the update, but the princess is in another castle! I mean, there’s still some pretty big bugs that said they were fixed recently, but they’re still not. :sob:

When changing speed to a higher value than 300%, then switching back down, it stays locked at the higher value.
i.e. - 300% -> 400% -> 300% = 400% speed

Set max health doesn’t work on:
Brigitte’s shield
Torbjorn’s turret
Symmetra’s ultimate
Reinhardt’s shield
D.va gets her max health, but she doesn’t spawn with her max health.

Winston’s max health does change, but after Winston’s ult finishes with full health, his current health goes back to his default health, even if his max hp is much larger.

Start camera still glitches.

Disable in-game respawning doesn’t work past round 1.

Respawn event player doesn’t always work.


Could there be an implementation on the two states of Bastion’s configurations? Another menu for specifically Bastion when you use the “is using Ability 1”. Also could there be more direct ways to alter damage values of currently existing abilities because in the current settings, the damage slider effects all damage rather than individual abilities.


please tell us when you are going to take servers down, I keep lossing hours of progess every time you update


How are you losing progress during an update. The update doesn’t kick you out. It sounds like you’re getting disconnected for other reasons. Unless the servers accidentally went down as well, but an update never kicks you out.


Start Holding Button(Jump), Stop Holding Button(Jump) not working.


What is script validation?


Creating effects with acceleration is now very limited. Before we were able to nullify an acceleration with another one in the opposite direction. Now, this is not possible anymore as the character will stop moving entirely (the acceleration is not overwritten anymore). The only way to stop acceleration is now with the stop acceleration command. However, this kills all acceleration and not only the intended ones.


Probably what happens when you exit the workshop and the game validates whether there is any error or not. That’s why it takes a while to load.

Have there been any fixes since this?


As a Reaper, Disallow button ‘Ability 2’ ,
Start Forcing Throttle cannot make players move to left doesn’t work
And I think Start Holding button ‘JUMP’ also has some errors
