Update - 6/28/2019 - Fissure Retires from Overwatch

Source: https://twitter.com/SeoulDynasty/status/1144078036502867968

Fissure originally served with the London Spitfire in the Inaugural season of the league often competing for the top spot with Gesture, in Stage 2, he was traded to the L.A. Gladiators and had a dominating performance beating the Spitfire in every match since. During the playoffs, he was benched due to communication and other issues with teammates and was eventually traded off to the Dynasty during the off season. He has since competed with this team until now.

Fissure’s retirement is not the only OWL news from last night:

Main Tank NoSmite and DPS Bazzi have both joined Hangzhou’s academy team, Bilibili Gaming, on a 2-way contract. This comes just a few days before Chinese Contenders S2 kicks off, and will hopefully allow both players to see more game time.

Oooof that’s a big blow to Seoul (well any team really)…who takes over? Or is that not something they have on the roster atm?

Seoul is probably the team least affected by one player leaving tbf. They’ve been playing their full roster on a map-by-map basis, this just means Marve1 will be playing every map now, not some.

the jjonak mvp zenyatta skin is now available!

It’s taken 3 stages, but my boy is back where he belongs!

:crab: Logix is here!:crab: The ex-Florida DPS is promoted from Montreal Rebellion, rejoining OWL with the Toronto Defiant.

thank mr logix

EDIT: No sooner do I post that, than do Toronto announce another signing, also formerly of the Mayhem organisation:

Mangachu FINALLY makes it into OWL, joining Toronto from Revival, and becomes the first Canadian to play on a Canadian team.

It’s Atlanta Homestand time…and DOT Esports is celebrating by posting the official “Atlanta Homestand Drinking Game”.

Link is below. PLEASE NOTE: Underage drinking and/or irresponsible drinking is not cool whatsoever. Please be advised soda and/or water is always available at your local grocery store and is a viable (and safer, to be frank) alternative to alcohol.

See you all in the official discussion threads tomorrow! If you’ll excuse me, I’m needed at work again…

There have been a couple of quiet updates to the Titans and the Spark

  • Tizi who played for North American Contenders team GRUNTo, is alledgedly joining the Vancouver Titans as a secondary main tank.
  • Krystal (Hangzhou Spark) is on a leave of absence for family matters and is expected to return in Stage 4. (He has not played since Stage 2 Playoffs.)

LA Valiant Main Tank turned makeshift Support, Kuki, has now retired.

Forgive me for being unprofessional here, but YESSSSSSSSSSS

A double signing for Washington, as they pick up 2 players who have played games together for over a decade. Main Tank LullSiSH and Off Tank Ellivote both join the Justice from Team EnVy, the Dallas Fuel academy team

Oooo this could get spicy

Having only retired earlier this season Stellar has unretired, but NOT gone back to Toronto. Instead, he has returned to the league with Boston. This is not the first Boston-Toronto transfer, with Neko previously going the other way when the Defiant roster was being built.

So what happens to patch and roster changes that used to happen between stages? Does it all just have to wait till the mid season break or the next season? (sorry, can’t read the link rn)

Roster changes can occur before a certain deadline. It was just easier to do it during stage breaks of course.
