Since the Lunar New Year event ended, my game minimizes at least once a game. Sometimes my mouse will not acknowledge that the window is minimized so I am literally frozen on my desktop with the game still running, unable to pull up task manager or open Overwatch again. I have tried to see if anything is running in the background and nothing is. What do?
Hey Rich,
There may be something running hidden in the background that is stealing focus. I’d recommend trying Selective Startup which should close down everything that is not essential for the game to run, then test it again.
- Press Windows Key+R .
- Type msconfig and press Enter .
- Select Selective startup and uncheck Load startup items .
- Select the Services tab.
- Check Hide all Microsoft services .
Note : Skipping this step may prevent your computer from rebooting correctly.- Click Disable all .
- Click Apply then click OK .
- Click Restart
If it’s still happening feel free to post your DXDIAG so we can take a look at that.
- Press Windows Key + R.
- In the Run window type dxdiag and press Enter.
- In the DirectX window, click Save All Information.
- Name the file “dxdiag” and save it to your Desktop. Open the new dxdiag file with Notepad.
- In the posting section hit the </> button for “Preformatted text” then paste (Ctrl+V) the DXDIAG contents. That’ll make the information much more readable.
If you are unable to post this due to the length of the DXDIAG, please feel free to use pastebin.com and share the direct link with us instead. Use the </> button as well in order to share the link.

Try disabling or removing Nahimic.
That solved it, thank you
You posted that it’s happening again. Just to be clear, this is not a symptom of a problem with the Overwatch client, it is caused by an issue on the system itself. Whether that is an antivirus blocking the game, another overlay, or the GPU driver crashing are outside Blizzard’s control. Last time, the report only showed Nahimic causing an issue, which was seen on the forums several times in the past. Let’s look at a new DxDiag, as well as an MSInfo (export to text, post to Pastebin).
Hi! It was solved but I noticed it started happening again after the background update that occurred this weekend. The first is the DxDiag and the second is what i think you mean by MSInfo. If it is not, please clarify what is needed
I think it’s still Nahimic. Lots more errors from it:
Event Name: MoAppCrash
Response: Not available
Cab Id: 0Problem signature:
P1: A-Volute.Nahimic_1.9.5.0_x64__w2gh52qy24etm
MSInfo: Windows key → type MSInfo → File → Export → Save to text → Upload.
I turned off Nahimic when you asked me to last time and it definitely fixed t temporarily. Ni idea why this is causing so many issues -_-. Would you suggest I just uninstall it? I am tryign to paste my MSInfo in pastebin but it is saying it is too large for pastebin. Any advice on how to condense it?
Yes, I thought you did that previously.
That’s not a great sign. It means there are so many errors that the file size is inflated. Start at the error reporting section and just use that.
Before I only prevented Nahimic from starting like the original post said.
I uninstalled Nahimic and it still crashed when I tried playing the game. Here is my MSInfo.
That file is your DxDiag, not an MSInfo.
Whoops, my bad. I am trying to paste only the errors but it is also too big. Should I cut it in half and send the errors in 2 pastebin links?
Yeah, that’s fine.
All right. What I did was searched within the MSInfo for the word error and then copied from that first error word all the way down to the bottom. I pasted all that info over 5 pastebins because it was so large. I am clearly horrible at technology so sorry for my ineptitudes haha
None of the first three are the “Error reporting” section I mentioned. The last two links are marked private, so no idea what’s in them.
All you need to do is search for “error reporting” and start from there.
No idea why they are private, that is not a setting I have or anything. Of course the 2 that were private are error reporting. Lets try this again
3/16/2022 2:53 AM Application Error Faulting application name: SynTPEnh.exe
3/14/2022 3:22 PM Application Error Faulting application name: Nahimic3.exe
The first error is related to the touchpad, but not sure if that’s causing this or what. Maybe it’s conflicting with your mouse.
The second is obviously Nahimic. I’ve heard it’s like a virus and you have to hunt down the files.
I also noticed you have Avast, which could be contributing to the issue. And nVidia Share is enabled, which is an overlay.
I turn the touchpad off when playing Overwatch or any other PC game so that it does not interfere with anything. The Nahimic error is just confusing. From what i can tell it is purged from my computer. The setting I have for Avast is that it goes silent when games are being played in order to prevent notifications or it running. How would I turn off the nvidia share? No idea what that is. Would you suggest I uninstall and reinstall Overwatch to see if that fixes it? I played 4 games today and only once did it crash so I guess it is an improvement?
