Overwatch is skilless and that's the point

I’m happy that Overwatch has taken it upon itself to be as inclusive as possible with the creation of a variety of entry-level heroes. I understand aim isn’t everything as I’ve transported from TF2 as a Pyro Main (who, for those who dont’t know, is the infamous W+M1 class of that game) and know the importance of ambushing, positioning, choosing your fights, and so on.

But I can’t say I agree completely, or at least not with characters like Mercy and Brigitte. They’re entry-level, but with less of a noticeable change in skill between high and low level players in terms of character-specific skills. Granted, general game sense is something developed as well, but it also aplies to the entire cast. It doesn’t take much to realize that positioning as Ana is more important and more difficult than Mercy due to a lack of mobility, but Mercy is usually just a safer option- of course, I’m pretty sure that just speaks to Ana’s state of balance rather than my argument…

I’m okay with a character being easy to pick up and learn, but I don’t like how far you can take them. If you want to go faster on a bike and become a better biker, you take off the training wheels.
