Overwatch Crashing at launch

Problem;

about 4 hours ago I was able to play now the game instantly crashes the moment I hit the play button, it will load a black screen then the loading screen then crash I have gone through all of the recommended suggestions by blizzard to fix this nothing seems to be working.

Next attempt will be to reset in game settings and/or do a system restore and see if that fixes the problem.

What I have tried so far;

Restarted Battlenet App
Restarted Computer
used Repair Tool – it found something off but did not fix the problem
reinstalled/updated Nvidia Drivers
Ran CCleaner in case it was a registry problem
Deleted Overwatch Cashe
Ran Memory Check

Comp specs;

No Bug Report is generated by overwatch when it crashes but I did get an event viewer log;

This is an OS file that allows apps to interact with Windows. I’d try a malware scan via Windows if you already repaired. A dxdiag report would be very helpful, as there should be an errors section at the end.

heres the full log.

Looks like we’re missing a lot of the report. You could share it on pastebin and give us the end of the link if it’s too long to include in a post here.

Based on the description of the issue and because it looks like you have some Razer peripherals, I’d recommend going through the steps listed here to remove the Chroma SDK.

didnt have chroma SDK installed in the first place, installed it didnt fix anything

cant use links on this forum always get errors when I try

s000.tinyupload .com/?file_id=04532427970654728160

reconnect the .com

Hey, I suggested pastebin because it doesn’t require a download and just displays the text. Unfortunately, I can’t download anything from that site, so if you want to use pastebin I can look, or maybe the staff can help you.

pastebin .com/nV7yLTZD

pastebin kept breaking earlier its working now.

btw attempted the game settings reset did nothing and I cannot do a system restore as the only option for a restore point is a few hours after the problem started.

Do you have another cable you can try? Also, have you made sure your Power Supply is performing at it’s labeled power output?

I saw your post in the other thread

Your home equipment/ISP line is showing a 3% packet loss and very poor response times of 2 full seconds, so I’m wondering if the game isn’t connecting and then crashing, or if the two are unrelated. Either way, you have a problem on your hands with your ISP connection.

its not the connection, first that connection info is from a different comp on a different isp (though I can get that info for you if you want), second the problem isnt the cable or power its the modem its self its a known problem with Shaw cable modems nothing can be done to fix it till shaw releases a new modem but thats a separate problem, also I can play overwatch without a problem on that comp…

But what about your display cable and computer power supply? That’s what I was asking about.

unsure how the dvi cable for the monitor would be a problem, as for the power supply that is the not the problem its working as intended.

I’m just trying to rule things out. But honestly, I think you should go back to investigating the error message from the Windows Event Viewer. Here’s an exhaustive guide to troubleshooting that particular error: https://www.lifewire.com/how-to-fix-ntdll-dll-errors-2624474

I know you have done a lot of the steps, but some you haven’t mentioned, so might be worth a look. If none of that helps, submit a ticket to Blizzard with your dxdiag and wait for an official response.

P.S. have you always had droidcam virtual audio device running when playing Overwatch? Just wondering if it might be causing an error with the audio which can cause crashes.

figured as much, I actually was looking at that site and tried a few of those solutions none of them worked, however, low and behold the game randomly fixed it self and its working again so ??? maybe blizzard did something maybe it was my connection maybe it was microsoft sneaking in a patch under the radar I didn’t see WHO KNOWS ill come back here if it breaks again in the next few days if not just close it.

so it seems the crashing was due to my audio source if I had it set as anything other then default it would crash on launch, if theres any info blizzard needs for this reply with what you need and ill get it for you other then that this problem is solved for now I guess.

hello there I got the problem blue screen when I try to start ow so this problem begin since I downloaded the last update of GeForce experience graphic card so if you got the same problem. delete the GeForce experience from your pc and you can play it or download the previous update the game should work. so just delete all update and GeForce experience and the game will work this problem soon will be fixed from Nvidia, you just need to wait until they fixed . thank you and I apologize for my English it’s bad . have fun :smiley:
