Whenever Contenders comes back, Soldier and Reaper are 2 of the 5 OW1 heroes remaining on the list of having their skin available. The 3 OW2 heroes will also be likely, along with the 4th hero in December.

It’s all but guaranteed that we should expect Soldier and Reaper skins to be available within the first 4 months/tournaments of Contenders coming back.

Yup. Next Contenders session starts Nov 7th so we should have a clearer picture which skins will be available by then.

EDIT: The rewards for the Overwatch League 2022 Playoffs and Grand Finals have been announced:

Fans who have linked their Battle.net accounts can enjoy matches and earn in-game perks throughout the entire week of Playoffs and Grand Finals, from October 30 – November 4, 2022.
  • Earn 5 League Tokens per hour for every hour watched.
  • Earn 3 Overwatch League home and away skins for every 3 hours watched, up to 30 hours. See the chart below for a full list of earnable skins, including the newest Overwatch 2 heroes: Sojourn, Junker Queen, and Kiriko!
  • Additionally, custom community designed Overwatch 2 cosmetics will be dropped after specific viewership milestones.

Updated the OP with the full Playoffs/Grand Finals schedule and skin/drop rewards.
Small notes regarding upcoming playoff streams;

  • 30 hours of watchtime required to get all the OW1 OWL hero skins during the playoffs portion of the streams. My rough estimate for the steams available to watch, estimating 1h30 mins per match, including the Encore streams (there are encore streams for all the playoff matches) is about 61.5 hours.

  • If you were on the fence about the Lucio Dance Party emote, which was previously always available for purchase for 200 OWL tokens in the Overwatch 1 League Shop, note that it wasn't made available for purchase in Overwatch 2. Thus getting it as a drop (for watching 24 hours of the playoff streams) might be the last opportunity for picking it up for a while (and for free)

Question about the streams, does I have to refresh the youtube page (in case I hop on before it started) when these go live to enable the drops? I’ve seen a few comment about this and just want to make sure.

I’d like to chime in here and note that Midseason Madness has the same 22-match + 22-encore schedule, and that tournament had a lot of 5-map matches, which led to 2 hr broadcasts.

Additionally, there’s roughly 5-10 hours of pre and post game coverage. The teams wound up playing 91 of the 112 total possible maps over the course of the Midseason Madness tournament, which ended up tallying over 80 hours of broadcast, or 400 tokens. We can hope for something similar here, plus the added benefit of getting an additional 100 tokens for hitting the 30-hour tier of the playoff perks.

45 minutes before the official start time. Unclear if all of it will be reward enabled, but it can’t hurt to get a head start.

Has anyone received the first batch of Skins or the spray yet?

I’ve received 2 regular token drops but nothing else.

edit: nvm I’m blind, first drop is for 3 hours.

I already have Genji and Tracer but I believe Bastion is a new hero to get gray/white OWL skins so I will be able to tell if I get Bastion’s skins and the Grand Finals 1 spray if the first three hours ‘works’. I have already gotten 10 tokens just from watching. Started my stream right at 4:45 PM EST.

Started my stream on time, have only gotten tokens. No new bastion skin nor spray, and I didn’t see them hidden in the filter menu anywhere, so hard to say what’s going on for me at least.

Same. Got 5 tokens (missed some time due to a browser freeze) and stopped getting tokens. Still says “Connected”

…and so the wait for a fix begins…

I’ve watched 3 hours now and i’ve yet to recieve any spray or skins…Please don’t tell me i have to re-connect it or something and that i’ve lost hours??

I’ve never had to re-connect my account before when watching OWL on youtube, so i don’t know what’s wrong???

EDIT: I also believe that i’ve yet recieved any OWL tokens for the 3 hours either.
