That’s core of Classic.
Get back to OW1 marketing. It was sold as competitive.
Even the choice of 6v6 format tells they wanted a competitive game otherwise they would have allowed more formats.
So I’ll quote those words.
I don’t deny the fun coming from the mod. But I read so many people getting amazed by Classic as if it was objectively better but its not.
It doesn’t mean the current OW2 format is the best neither.
And that’s my critical thought :
OW2 is getting stuck in a boring state since S9 with Tanks either being OP or non-existing.
Classic is a new mode for a lot of people and they’re having fun because its busted as hell and because nobody gives a try to no limit mod or OpenQueue.
So Classic a fun mode like Halloween, Battle of Gods and stuff.
