I think it depends on the expectations of the community. People who enjoy a wacky, party game like shooter will enjoy Marvel Rivals. Still, games usually see a decline in player base with time, and I think developers should accept that instead of trying to artificially make games eternal.
Games like Left 4 Dead 2 got lucky with a massive and consistent player base, but if you look, even that game’s player base has declined since launch.
