I think OW1’s beta could afford to be poorly balanced here and there, or have some strange choices, but I doubt OW2 can with the amount of hype and negativity that has been around Blizz.
Lets hope they bring their A-game to this beta, and a large enough pool of players get to play it. Can’t imagine OWL will be considered anything more than an OW2 promotional event if only 1% of the playerbase got to play for two days.
Also gotta remember that players are gonna come into OW2’s beta, see no new Tank and instapick road, rein, ect (even with the reworks, I doubt people will be interested in Orisa).
I feel its pretty important that returning OW players don’t see this as OW1 with a new hero/UI. (Wonder how DPS queue times will fair) The room for error is much shorter than OW1 beta imo.
At least we got to see Aaron again though, hoping this isn’t a one off. I’m excited but lets hope this doesn’t blow up in blizzard’s face as forced out to meet OWL deadlines (Which it probably was, being honest)
PvP will be this year. It looks like the PvE stuff is still in development limbo.
God would it kill them to let us know why the sign-up form isn’t working for the beta?

so I have an important question for blizzard… Will the poor people from Overwatch 1 get archives for consolation that they will not be able to play Overwatch 2? <:
I doubt they separate pvp and pve, after all whole point is to draw in as much people as possible when pve is out to buy to see the “buy” button.
It’s likely to assume they’re will be a 2nd open beta for all platforms just like they did for Overwatch back in Spring 2016.
They put out a statement on the @BlizzardCS twitter.

As exiting as all this is… Telling us you’re listening and then not putting Bap and Brig, the two heroes ruining the game, on the rework list is concerning.
I’ll take it. I’m more than happy to play a scuffed version of OW2. Any sort of ulterior motive from marketing doesn’t bother me in the least, lemme see 5v5 outside of custom games.

We have the same repeated promise of “more communication”; they totally mean it this time guys! The beta in April, and I’m assuming all future ones, will be PC only. PvE is barely even mentioned.

Is Sojourn the only new hero for the beta? Or the OW2 launch for pvp only have Sojourn?

Well when beta is finished, we’ll likely see pvp content released. Software development can be in beta limbo for years (e.g. gmail). We might not get an official OW2 release until 2023.
