Over 15 hours of Overwatch Contenders watched and I didn't get the Mercy skin

True, I feel like you should also get credit for watching past VOD’s. Like it’s still views, and then there aren’t any timezone concerns.

Or at least rebroadcast the matches that were in different timezones. Some of those matches were early am or played during work hours for a lot of people.

It’s mind boggling how sloppy this company can be at times. So many good PR opportunities sullied because this company has an uncontrollable urge to shoot itself in the foot.

Mercy skin?

You need to wait a little bit. I got the Sym skin like 2 days after I watched 7hrs

I watched over 7 hours yesterday and I still do not have the Symmetra skin.
I did everything right on my end.
Got the Genji one.
I hope they bring the Mercy one back.

This is just like what happened with the OWL tokens. I watched OWL for hours on end on three different devices and I didn’t even get half as much as I should have gotten. I’ve watched over 15 hours of contenders yet I’ve gotten none of the skins. Their website does not work and support does not remedy the situation so you’re kinda just out of luck unless you get awarded the skin later on from now. Goodluck.

What do you mean by the green light? What is it? Also what do you mean that a video can’t be muted?

While you were watching contenders if there was a green light at the bottom below the the title, that means that drops were active. I’m not sure about the video being muted, but multiple sources state that it’s better to leave the site unmuted in chrome and as well as leave the stream unmuted. Personally I’ve been able to mute the tab directly from my web browser and still earn rewards, but some people say that affects it.

Also watched over 15 hours and only received 1 of 2 skins.

Please help us out.

I’ll come over here to this thread to complain about this system, because I want to keep the other thread about reports. Man, this system is utterly terrible, especially with a short month of events like October. Without some sort of system to track usage, it could have been 4 days before you were even aware of a problem.

It would likely take 2 days of streaming to hit one of the thresholds, unless you got a particularly long stream, and then you have to wait up to 2 days to get a drop, before missing it means a problem.

For October, that means if you had a problem, you’ve missed 25% of the window before you might even know. And troubleshooting was nigh impossible with a lag of up to 4 days between making an adjustment and seeing the results.

The system was designed to be a user and customer service nightmare.

Those who haven’t reported yet, be sure to visit this thread:

That’s mostly because if the skins are limited edition more people will want to get them. It’s like if Atlantic/Pacific OWL skins were left in the OWL store after their respective series like the Lucio emote. Less people would’ve bought them because they wouldn’t necessarily be limited. A lot of people bought those skins (even for the heroes they don’t play) because they knew they’d be limited edition. If they hadn’t been, a lot of people wouldn’t of bought skins that were for heroes they didn’t play. If the OW Contenders skins were available through VODs, sure it would allow those who want the skins to earn them aswell if they missed the Contenders streams, but it would also discourage a lot of people who don’t necessarily care about Contenders to watch it. Even those who don’t watch the OWL or Contenders were watching Contenders to earn the skins because they’d be limited edition, aswell as if they played that specific hero it’d be a limited edition for their favourite hero. As some one who enjoys collecting cosmetics, especially ones I know will be limited time or ‘rare’, it is one of the primary reasons I watched Contenders. I do support the tier 1-3 scenes obviously, but competitive OW doesn’t really interest me. Because of the skins however, I was encouraged to watch Contenders and for the most part enjoyed doing so. If the skins were available any time through VODs, I probably wouldn’t of been encouraged to watch Contenders to earn the skins.

Hello, I received the Symmetra skin (so, everything works fine) but I’m still waiting the Mercy skin… And I watched more than 15 hours. I dont understand.

Moreover, I watched enough to get Lucio or Torbj but still nothing.

You won’t probably get it. Their viewer rewards are known for being extremely buggy and not giving viewers rewards at all due to completely unknown reasons. If you google issues with for example OWL token viewer rewards you should find endless topics about similar issues

Support told me to post in this topic

Greetings,

This is Game Master Nestold, and I hope you’re doing well! I wanted to first apologize for the delay in getting back to you on this. I understand you’ve been waiting a while for an answer and just wanted to let you know that things are a little bit busy right now. We really appreciate your patience.

I understand you’re contacting us because you didn’t receive your Contender’s Mercy skin from watching Overwatch League yet, and you’re wanting to know if we can help. I’m sorry to hear you haven’t received your reward yet!

Alas, we do not have any means of verifying how many hours or matches you’ve watched here at Customer Support.

Keep in mind, different skins have a different amount of required hours to watch before they will be delivered. For example, Symmetra requires only 7 hours, while Mercy requires 15.

For more information, you can read about how this all works here: Watch Contenders and Get In-Game Skins - Article Metadata Detail | The Overwatch League.

If you have issues with receiving your skins, please be sure to report that in the Forums. Game Masters cannot grant skins. You may not receive a reply directly to your forum post, but that doesn’t mean it hasn’t been seen! Also, it helps if you use an existing thread, rather than creating a new one. That helps to track it easier. Here’s one that might be good: Over 15 hours of Overwatch Contenders watched and I didn't get the Mercy skin.

I do see there are a lot of contacts about this, and I understand you’re hoping for a more immediate fix. Please be aware, however, that Game Masters cannot grant these skins. Apologies for the inconvenience.

I also haven’t received Sym and Mercy skin. I watched more than 15 hours. Help me plz.

Do you have the sound on constantly? You need to keep the stream unmuted.

Raised it with again today and they are investigating…

My name is Tech Specialist Game Master ****** *. Thanks for reaching out to us on this drop issue from the prior months. I do not have any data for you on this at this time.

I do see we have a report in and is being investigated for these. In the past, with these drops, they did what was best for customers and sent them out. I do not have any information regarding that at this time though.

Yes, the stream is not muted because I really watch the contenders. Also, I received Torbjörn and Lucio skin few days ago, but still no Mercy on my heroes gallery. I’m so sad :’(

Maybe Blizzard can give us a second chance to get the Mercy skin because lots of people have the same issue.

I had the same thing happen. Somewhere on this forum - I forget which thread - I saw an official response that said that it could take up to 48 hours to get the skins. I knew that everything was working, since I’d gotten my Symmetra skins, but the Mercy skins weren’t there on November 1st (or maybe 2nd) when I checked. Unfortunately, I was too busy to play for most of November, so I didn’t notice until the weekend of the 22nd, when I logged in and had the new skins (both sets), for having watched in November, but still no Mercy skins. (Then I became busy again and didn’t get a chance to post here until today.) Hopefully I’ll be able to get the Mercy skins in December, even though I shouldn’t have to “make up” for it, since I already watched enough hours for them. :-\
