Option to Remove Level 600 Border

As someone who is 5 stars and level 40, I dread to get the next 60 levels after reading these kinds of posts.

It’s really that bad?:fearful:

It’s a really unfair comparison for people to make as some players have loads of experience on other games, while overwatch could be one of the very few others have played. The people with not much experience will be discriminated against as they end up playing more to reach the same skill :frowning:

I’d also like to be able to hide the level border.
I’ve frequently had people scapegoat me for a loss “wow, platinum border and you still play that bad” or a more offensive variation on that theme.

Very often get people ask me how many hours I’ve played, how on earth I’ve played so much etc. It’s kinda embarrassing and I’d like to hide that I’m somewhat of a no-lifer!

Why would I hide my platinum border for playing this game for so long? This is the only “reward” we have for playing the game for so long.
The problem is people judging others by the rank and level, it would be good if we could hide our ranked info when playing casual game modes.

I’ve lost count of how many players I reported over the last year until now for insulting me for no reason about level and rank.

To be fair … how is it that you have that much playtime without a higher SR? I ask that without bringing flames.

Agreed! I love my borders and wouldn’t shut them off. I just don’t like the salty people who expect so much from them.

OW is my first competitive FPS game since I was young and in my teens (like 20 years ago now.) I always assume the one’s with the worst comments have 3 times my game time hours in other FPS’s like CS and TF and are ranked the same as I am

The option to set your competitive stats as private (for example :P) would be nice too. Maybe only in competitive mode it would be unlocked unless you choose so otherwise?

Needs custom borders.

And I do not want that.
I do not want you do that.
I am diamond but my stats are mine. If I am MCree main but I do not feel like playing a DPS, I do not want you to tell me what to play.
Majority of the people would rather tell you to change than change them self.

Quick matches. As far as I know you do not get SR in quick match.

This is report option. I suggest to use it. I only get a heckler once a week. If that. Every day? Lol. EVERY GAME? Yeah right.

True, but if you’ve played that much QP, you should generally have grasped some new strategies that would make you improve over time – and if he/she has an SR, that would mean he/she has played ranked. I know QP skill doesn’t equal SR skill, but… that’s a lot of playtime to be only as good as half the people who play the game.

I also would like an option to remove any hints to Competitive Status.

I only play Arcade and QP, and I did a few placement matches and they all were a trainwreck because of leavers and other stuff that was going on, so my Comp rating is really really bad. And often when I say something, someone comes up with stuff like “… says a bronze/silver player” … that’s pretty unfun.

Actually not and the reason is simple: Some people do not play comp that much when if they play comp, then there are people who expect others to be good based on SR and other stats.

I have diamond SR, i played only 10 games in the last season, what does that makes me?

This is why I am 100% against visible SR and visible stats. Those numbers only gives people a chance to embarrass other people and make fun of them (in general ofc, not you specificity).

Yup, pretty much sums up the OW comp.
Its just a joke. There is no real comp in this game.
