If uninstalling and reinstalling does not work, you may want to check out this important post in the Bug Report forum. Read Bill Warnecke’s instructions for details:
Yup. i have exactly that right now.
If I may ask as I am monitoring that thread, what CPU for your computer do you have?
Pentium 2020M @2.40GHz
AMD 8570M 2GB
I thought the patching process did reinstall it?
Yeah that is what I was afraid of.
It was my understanding that you had to manually uninstall/reinstall for it to work.
Edit: I might have been wrong, but as soon as I did that I got better frames, less ping, and the game took up almost 50% of the drive space as it did before.
Officially there was no need to uninstall, but if manually uninstalling works even more to improve it, then no harm doing it.
Ah, thanks for clearing that up.
It was a success on pc. I downloaded the game on both PC (main) and console(to play with friends). And let me just say the games frame rates are much worse after this patch on console. And it’s not because “console lol”. I was playing just yesterday and it was perfectly fine. But now it’s like 15-20 fps
Great. They broke the damn game for me.
I reinstalled completely. It worked the first time but after that it doesn’t want to load anything at all.
That’s highly unfortunate. You may want to avoid comp for a bit until you can confirm it works reliably. Those are some harsh penalties if it keeps up.
Meanwhile, I’ve been waiting for over an hour for Overwatch to update. It seems to have just stalled.
Edit: it just went up by 1%. It’s working.
lmfao sorry this made me laugh
I was on all low except for about 3 settings that were on high (or epic\ultra idr) and I would vet about 180-250 fps on my laptop
what settings do you recommend I turn up?
I thought it was next patch and not this one?
My Xbox isn’t exactly the best one out there. I remember one time where it stalled at about 50% for an hour, then moved up 1.5%.
Fun Fact: Since I made that first post, it has gone from 74% to 75%.
