Only Let Mercy Rez During Valkyrie - New E Ability Normally

not when most of the time she can’t reasonably shoot without throwing. and like, how is merely 100dps good enough for an ult? sombra deals 140dps on live and she needed damage buffs for OW2.

depends on charge rate. if she’s balanced back to being a main healer and the charge rate for single res isn’t huge, then it wouldn’t be a poor ult.

and there will still be counterability even if the cast time is made as quickly as most other abilities/ults.

  1. you can camp the corpse because you know, the actual res has an animation before the target can start doing anything or moving and this hasn’t yet taken into account animation delays for the resed target to do anything to escape a camper nor the fact that your camera is locked whilst in res animation (Titanium explains this well: https://youtu.be/qNEqND7twME?t=748 (timestamped))
  2. if anything there’s more abilities now that can actually trap a resed target (bob, torb ult, mei ult, ball mines, noon, sojourns aoe, junk mine and/or trap, junk tire, etc.)
  3. if it has the same cast time as most other abilities/ults, then how reactable it is literally follows the same standard.

That’s just… why? Maining is one thing, but this. You’re one of those who completely falls apart if someone else picks Mercy?

Nope they’re a GM Ana player too! They actually have a decent hero pool, but Mercy is the hero that got them interested in OW.

So in this response you got upset with me cause I referenced that I defended Rez as a mechanic in other threads and not in this one, making that point moot.

But then for a point I DO bring up in this thread it’s “too much work” for you?

You literally quoted and replied saying I wanted only shooting damage heroes when I said nothing of the sort,

Yeeesh. Go have a drink of water.

Peace :v:

I agree. I thrive duoing as Ashe/76/Cree +Mercy and still doing good. Having a second life opens an opportunity to do aggressive plays having that advantage. Valk res is a good idea, since res has an ultimate value mid-fight, I would add to change “E” to some sort of lucio AMP but for healing and damage boost, depending on what you are using. That way, a hero keeps her identity with resurrection option and gets the benefit of being able to sustain tank as main healer with her new AMP cooldown on “E”.

The reason you would want rez replaced, as I can tell from OP’s opinion, is that the situational usage makes the ability potentially worthless. Most abilities in the game can be used fairly actively, but the nature of rez goes against the preferred playstyle. Defensively using res probably means you lose out on the ability to heal when your team needs it heavily, and you’re already losing the fight. Using res has a very high risk of death…when you’re a support…and the support’s job is to stay alive…

First off, no. That’s not what happened. I was asking a question the first time, and then explaining how searching through a whole thread would be obnoxious. Those aren’t mutually exclusive, but I wanted to at least ask first before I told you no. If you look back at the first thing, you’ll see that I barely gave my opinion then (if I gave it at all) simply because I was giving you the benefit of the doubt first.

Obviously I’m going to come down harder when I know what your point is.

Secondly

How can you think you’re even worth the discussion when you can’t discuss?

Because in a game where the dps move 10% faster they can close the gap on you quickly and make it impossible to get the rez off. Rez needs to reset the cd of ga and be much shorter it feels like, but maybe thats just how buggy the game feels atm. (Camera flicking to random spots, ga’ ing to the wrong target)

Im with moving rez to her ult (single target instant rez with a large range or remove los required)

Put valk on e remove chain beams give her some speed/keep her speed buff in valk keep60 hps in valk or let her dmg boost and heal at the same time in valk.

55hps and 20dmg boost with mb1
30dmg and 30hps with mb2.

No, the Res is part of the Overwatch lore, she resurrects the fallen, taking that away from her is killing the character, what she needs is a buff, not nerfs.

E skill idea - Guardians angel :

  • Cast a magical buff to a teammate. Provide 10% headshot damage reduction and 30% movement speed for 5 sec.
  • If the teammate being killed when having guardians angel. The guardians angel will drop a soul with 250hp, and the teammate will be revive within 3 sec if the soul didn’t be destroyed.
  • Revived teammate only have 300 hp max after revive. This skill have 15 sec CD.

Again they gave alternatives for it to stay while making it no longer the reason why she can’t get buffs or reworked parts of her base kit.

While Aurora would prefer it to be removed they said they would be fine to have it moved to ult-which frees up Mercy’s power balance for her base kit.

Moving it to ult makes the character even more garbage and this was seen in the experimental one.

What if her E was a low CD, AoE Damage and debuff: She uses her dead allies soul things to rain destruction upon her enemies :stuck_out_tongue:

Example: When an ally die, they leave a Soul thing in in their steed, and what if Mercy could pop them, dealing like 50 damage in an area around it and apply a Damage debuff on nearby enemies, while the soul will be consumed.

Or the E could be a 15 sec instant cast, but it only respawn the target not resurrect it on the battlefield and maybe in Valk it’s a full resurrect.

Or swap the Valk and Rez, so single target rez is her ultimate and Valk is her E. I think someone said here as well, but this could be more fun, you got an ability you can use more often and will also improve her survivability in this new flank game, and give her some options to flank herself
/xoxo

And here we go again.

Only because 1 resurrect often is not enough.

As long as ult has multiple(not 1) resurrects, I support that. Because you need ult to start winning, not to continue winning. Which often means throwing teammates into enemy, until enemy has to reload, to bury them under pile of corpses.

At least with multiple resurrects, getting your resurrects is worth the effort. Not “I spent last 15 seconds getting to this guy to bring them back, and they just get smoked in next 5 seconds” kind of thing, which makes resurrect questionable to use.

That is the key that drives me crazy. Even in OW1 rez felt slow. But in OW2? It really does not fit there at all. I would suggest 1 insta rez as an ult (ult charge rate can be balanced easy) and give her something faster on E. Like a burst heal or cleanse.

Yeah I have to agree to… what a time to be alive.

I think I have to agree.

An ability like Rez feels a bit too strong now that there is 1 less player on each team to prevent the Mercy from rezing.

Just, remove it and give Mercy a fresh healthier more fun ability, simple.

in OW2 she could probably benefit from some boop or cleanse ability. Boop could be her smashing her staff into the ground and if you do it in while flying she comes down quicker and boop is stronger. Cleanse would also be almost as strong as rez

But idk if these would be as unique as rez

Here is unique twist to resurrect - you can resurrect enemies, creating AI bot(zombie, basically), that would fight for you, until that enemy respawns.

Possibly with some motivational line, like “Fight for the right cause!”.
