On paper, Brigitte’s potential as a healer is significantly better

Do you think just buffing her Inspire significantly would be good enough? Make it so she’s really good in a group when people engage, and has to land whip shots from afar to proc inspire if they’re poking from afar?

I beg to differ, she can still work perfectly fine in a 2 2 2 if your Brig has half a brain. And against a divey comp she excels more than any other healers with little to no effort at all.

Well, now Brig is competing with other Supports to be picked. If she heals a lot and have sustain she will be too good in comparison to others. In order to improve her healing it will come at a cost somehow.

Well she didn’t work perfectly enough in most situations, hence the rework. Jeff acknowledged this, many higher tier streamers and players acknowledged this, and it was just reinforced even more by her plummeting pickrate.

Brig was designed to be a hybrid support/tank (kind of an off-tank sustain [a shield and 50 armor] with support hitbox and healing/armor utility) and that was her identity.
On combat Brig could heal “decently”, but out of combat she just relied on Repair Pack to solo heal with long CD.
With 222 and homogenization they gave repair pack more times to be used and nerfed her sustain, but they should at least keep some more sustain in her shield for her identity, even if it cost her a little less times to use repair pack maybe.

Whipshot makes up for the range. It’s much easier to land, and I don’t get punished for using it. Even if I miss my first WS, I have 3 charges to make sure the team is still alive. I can use WS > RP over and over. If I hit WS, I don’t use RP.

The new RP gives you a cushion if you miss WS.

On live she is sub optimal in 2 2 2 vs spam comp or heavy dps comp that is true, but if they run dive she is still crazy strong against, that a her true intended niche, the 3 3 was a by product that is good against almost everything that should have never happened

That doesnt mean her core inspiration is flawed. They could still design a paladin like hero

Hey Jaku, you got a discord, if so add me at Russ#4588

If they just give Brig back some survivability instead on the PTR, she’ll be ok imho.

It’s my opinion that high-skill heroes should be the niche heroes. It’s called specialisation. Low skill = generalist, high-skill = specialised. That’s what actually makes sense.

How does it make sense if such a hard to play hero finds less application than an easy hero? What is the point of putting 10 time the efforts into learning hard heroes if they are niche? The game has to have a good and healthy ratio of high risk/high reward.

Ever heard the phrase jack of all trades master of none? It takes skill and training to be a specialist. You can’t finish school and get a job as a professional bomb-diffuser. You can get a job as a manual labourer though. Which is more niche, more specialised and takes more skill?

She’s such an easy target to dive, she would be the first to die. What is she going to do, run away? Sustain through focus fire with 8 HPS? Win a 1v6 with near the lowest DPS in the game?

And which job pay you more for your efforts? High effort/high reward right?

Sure. That doesn’t really validate your argument though.

In doing so, shell be back to the paladin motif so im happy with it

It all comes down to engage with the team (your tanks most likely) and not be a solo one man army who 1v1s everything close range.

Its a healthy change

Between a Zen and a Brig who got dove, who do you think will go down faster?

Zen needs additional resources from his team to help him stay alive, Brig needs additional resources from the enemy to take her down, that is a big difference.

Brig will need additional resources from her team to stay alive too. 8 HPS and a 200 health barrier won’t keep her alive through a dive. Zen is the weakest link in dive which is why he’s one of the first targets, so you’re only proving my point. The difference is Zen’s utility is high enough to make him valuable despite this weakness, while Brig’s isn’t. Just healing from range won’t be good enough as such a weak link in the comp.
