Ok, Mercy is a problem

well, uhh, how to put this?

I’ll just go with a simple “no, she’s not” for now, i guess

That doesn’t make said hero a problem.

Okay but why is she a problem now? The last buff she recieved was 55hp/s and her damage boost hasnt been touched at all. Lmao

Damage boost is pretty broken when there’s not 24/7 barriers blocking incoming shots.

But there is a fix for that.

Mercy

Caduceus Staff (Damage Boost)

  • Damage boost only applies to base-damage, not critical damage.
    Damage = (BaseDamage * 1.3) + CriticalDamage

Caduceus Staff (Healing)

  • Healing per second increased to 60hps, from 55hps.

Ressurection

  • Cast time duration decreased to 1.65sec, from 1.75sec.

Caduceus Blaster

  • Weapon Switch speed decreased to 0.5sec, from 1.2sec.

Zenyatta

Orb of Discord

  • Damage boost only applies to base-damage, not critical damage.
    Damage = (BaseDamage * 1.3) + CriticalDamage

Orb of Destruction (Primary and Alternate Fire)

  • Damage increased to 54, from 48.
    • So that it’s continues to be 62 when damage boosted.

Zenyatta has low healing and mobility outside of his ultimate but makes up for it with high potential damage output. With the recently lowered barrier uptime resulting in an overall faster pace of the game, we want to make sure Zenyatta still excels at his strengths. This change will make his charged attack flow a bit better in combat.

Widowmaker

Widow’s Kiss (Zoomed In)

  • Headshots deal 2.0x damage for 0-99% charge.
  • At 100% charge Headshot multiplier is increased to 2.5x.

Ashe

  • No changes, but the above changes would make her damage boosted headshots do 184 damage, instead of 208.

She’s a must pick because every other healer got nerfed into the dirt and no other healer really works with hyper offense which is what we have right now.

Mercy is still terribly designed and underpowered unless she makes use of her mobility to be a distraction. The rest of the support cast (except Ana) getting nerfed into irrelevancy doesn’t change that.

I mean, Ana is still picked more tho lol

But yes. Mercy is the issue, not those 7 consecutive Buffs to Ashe

I guess the Overwatch community are just big fans of the Geneva convention.

Though come to think of it, if damage boost existed irl, I think it would negate that protection.

I’m going to keep asking for damage reduction instead of damage boost. Pocket Mercy needs to be killed off for her own health.

The issue is damage boosted headshots, which are pretty boring for Mercy anyways.

So nerf those and give Mercy more useful buffs.

The vast majority of Mercy players aren’t latched on to a sniper for the majority of the game. So I don’t know why people are clinging to it so much, when Mercy could feel better for typical gameplay.

Add counterplay to snipers, more close range DPS become viable, and it becomes easier to directly contest a Res.

Mercy is fine. Let’s stop with the pointless nerf train.

Couple patches ago Mercy mains were told to swap to brigitte because mercy was trash in comparison. This was also when Ashe was best meta dps.

How is a trash character a must pick and OP character now? Mercy never even competed with brigitte for the pocket and peel support.

Your problem is not mercy, its nerfing other supports and barriers so much that sniperwatch becomes meta and it’s possibly the only single meta where mercy might be bit better than other supports since she can fly to them. After they nerfed brigitte ofc.

Oh and if it wasn’t for ashe’s dynamite, discord would be 6 times better than dmg boost anyway.

How are snipers not the problem??

Mercy’s good because this meta says “No “ to teamwork and she can just blue beam Ashe.

If Ashe wasn’t good she’d join the other supports in their terrible pickrates just blue beaming widow occassionally if the player can’t flex to Lucio or Zen to take matters into their own hands.

Oh my goodness. Mercy has been meta for what, 2 weeks? Ana has been absolute top of the picks on ladder for more for 2 YEARS. Why so much hate for Mercy being picked for the first time in 2 YEARS? Good gravy, it’s almost like we’re in a meta that favors her. I know that’s shocking. As soon as they tweak shields, Mercy will probably once again disappear. Or if they nerf the dps she favors.

Or just heals in general.

I cant count the number of times I watch my teammates throw themselves at a double main heal pocketed tank, just to fail to get the kill (obviously) then proceed to complain “omg tanks are OP.”

This has been a problem since launch tbh. No one knows what basic taeget priority is.

This again has to do with the meta. Ana can sleep hog out of hooks and ults and her anti-nade stops him from just healing back all the damage the team just did to him.

Other than misspelling resurrection, I could get behind those changes, at least for an experimental card.

I play Mercy tons, but I could see a general damage boost and not for crit headshots (same with Zenyatta.)

Might make the other tanks feel better to play as well, without being boosted-crit the whole match.

It’s not even just the DB’d Headshots.
DB’d Dynamite does 200 damage.
If someone gets hit by a DB Dynamite and doesnt get healed, they’ll die.
Let’s not mess with a character who’s been considered handicap garbage for 2 years after her unsuccessful rework all because 1 Add-in hero with an over bloated kit got buffed 7 times in a row
This all reminds me so much of Tracer and Brig.
Should Blizzard simply of nerfed Tracer originally? Or should they create a problem 10 times more complicated in order to handle the 1 character
That’s what it sounds like you’re doing here :woman_shrugging:

Technically DB dynamite burn shouldn’t be able to be damage boosted.

Since it’s a secondary effect caused by a separate entity. Like DragonStrike.
