Iām actually expecting less content than normal. And an excuse. About a week later.
The only thing that would excite me to play during Halloween is if they did a decent job Halloweenifying a large number of maps. Skins are not enough. It would make the game feel fresh and new if every map had its own theme for events.

I havenāt played the game since the first day of Season 18, which for me already feels strangely like a hiatus of sortsā¦ I think I am just waiting for Symmetra to get toned down. But Iāve been getting back into other games, like Rocket League and Rainbow Six Siege and I do have a huge backlog. Maybe I will take a longer break.

how are you dying over & over as Bastion with baptiste + double barrier meta?

Because Bastion is made of wet cardboard.
If someone has a sightline to that Bastion, for even a single moment, that Bastion is dead.
Now try facing things like Sombra, Doomfist, Baptiste, Ana, Roadhog, and Sigma.
Who are being used to counter, said meta.
Now youāre dead if you have to fight any of them.
And you will be jumped, constantly. pushed from straight on, constantly.
And attacked from every conceivable angle and range, constantly.
You canāt keep shields up long enough to keep a Bastion alive, and Bapās field doesnāt work when the enemy can focus it, in fact, itās only really valuable when facing a Bastion, since Bastion now has to focus down a random floating thing and is wasting time and effort, and is now in a huge āShoot meā window if time.
Not to mention that a stunned Bastion, is a dead Bastion. No matter the length of the stun.
If you start having a Doomfist pounce on you, you have two choices:
- Try to kill the doomfist and get killed by the other enemies in the process.
- Focus an enemy before you die to the doomfist in the process.
And yes, they will attempt to pounce straight on you from any angle, and through any shield.
Just like a Genji, as long as youāre not focusing them directly (Such as dealing with a shield or Tank that is threatening your team) They can circle around you and kill you before you can react.
And assuming you stop focusing whatever else and only center on them, now youāre doing two things that will get you killed:
- Showing your head hitbox to the enemy.
- Leaving your immediate area defenseless as you fight the closest enemy to you.
Allow me to also mention that as long as there is a Sombra on the enemy team you are constantly listening to your backside and even check-firing behind you, since you HAVE to cancel her hack, or you become a walking duck, in a hilarious turn of the tables. And once youāre hacked, youāre dead.
Being slept is easier to counter but still leaves you as a less easily defended sitting duck, and you can only be woken by enemy fire, which sucks.
BUT, being unable to heal as a Bastion, means youāre dead.
Which also means youāll find yourself ducking in and our of cover, trying to keep away from sightlines with open air.
Anaās tend to lob those granades miles away in pre-planned arcs, that will surely hit the payload from certain sightlines.
If this happens, thatās it. Game over. That push, or that security you had with a point or payload is now gone.
Sigma can now block you off of any sightline, without putting himself in danger, like an Orisa or even Reinhardt. He can project the barrier and leave before heās ever in any danger, meaning you MUST re-position the moment you see it, and burn it any chance you get from a safe location. If you see his shield, you move. no questions asked.
Roady is simple of course. Hooked = Dead. And his self heal means that unless you have immediate team assistance he can walk right up to you no matter what, or create the sightline he needs without any danger to himself.
I think that just about covers everythingā¦

I think my overwatch days may be limited as well. The only real content we see are heroes and maps. Would love to see a new game type but donāt think that will happen. This game is beyond stale.

Iām sad to see you go, but I hope you find or have a better game and community, I wouldnāt suggest League, its still more hate inducing. I wish I coulda made friends with you on discord or something. Ah well, all whats left that I can say is good luck and have fun.

Also kinda meh @ OW ATM, havenāt played in over a week and starting to be less active on here as well, just not much pointā¦ Same topics over and over and anything that breaks the mold even a bit, gets buried under the oh so controversial topics.
Last I dropped out from the forums, I was away for a yearā¦ Didnāt miss it honestly, was for the same reason as wellā¦ Burnt out on the game/uninterested in it and the forums being the forums.
ā¦Only came back because I started playing the game again but the interest didnāt last too long TBF.

I just leave the game on my pc and only play practice range atm. The rest of the game is not interesting anymore.

This is why iām saying iām going on hiatus.
Things only really end when Chibi says they do.
Iām going to guess that the next change for Bastion is going to be a ālimitā on Sentry mode. Which btw, will gut the hero beyond all playability.
I will only be returning either out of sear boredom, if a new hero is released and i like it, or if Bastion becomes playable.
