You know who really needs nerfed in this game? Genji. A character who has never ever been nerfed. A character that is ridiculously overpowered compared to every other character in the game. Who plain has more abilities and capabilities than every other character in the game. And it shows!
Genji out-powers every other character in any match he is placed in. Every single time. It’s become Genji-watch for years. Genji is the star of this show. While everybody else is lesser. And it is no fun to play against.
There’s a slippery slope. If you’re going to apply logic in one place then why not another? Why can bastion be ressed then? Or the mecha sleep darted? Or soldier’s legs hacked?
Since we’re not keeping everything logical, the only reason not to res her in the mech is to make an additional layer of bother for the DVA player.
The accuracy. D.Va was and iss behind Rein and Zarya so she was/is the 3rd tank on every step of the ladder but was nerfed because of pro play meta and that alone. How is that fair. Meanwhile Zen and Lucio have enjoyed being meta for 11 seasons in pro play and ladder but touching them is sacrilege
She’s been third pick for months, that’s not OP. The nerfs weren’t rational for a state of balance, they were applied to force a meta change which has pretty much dumpstered her in GM. And honestly, I don’t even know why we have armour as a mechanic anymore; it doesn’t seem to help her at all.
Besides having made decent sense as a vulnerable period back when her mech was actually made of metal instead of paper, it probably has to do with all the coding trouble they have with her and her passive.
If you’re going to try making me eat my own words, at least make sure you have a bit of ground yourself.
I will say this again; you spoke of the average winrate it takes to stay in GM needing to be above 50%, and then you tried applying that to overbuff statistics which cover all players, both the winning team and losing team. So tell me again that I can’t interpret pickrate and winrate data?
The real reason is that Dva is really 2 characters. Mech Dva and Baby Dva are, as far as the game’s coding is concerned, 2 completely different heroes, as different as Ashe and Winston. When baby Dva dies and goes to spawn the game basically quietly switches you from Baby Dva to Mech Dva.
But since only Baby Dva ever dies like a normal character and you can’t change heroes if Rezzed, Mercy rezzes the Baby Dva.
It might literally not be possible to make her respawn as Mech Dva without extensive deep reworking in the coding of Rez and/or Dva’s spawning protocols. Dva is already the buggiest hero in the game due to her being 2 heroes, it’s probably not worth the trouble as far as Blizz is concerned.
I don’t agree with a lot of the nerfs she has copped, most of them she has been the victim of an attempted meta change.
That being said with all the nerfs and changes she has had she still remains in every meta.
Still a great pick and extremely versatile IMO.
The irony of using OWL just to balance D.va is that, WE. DONT. PLAY. OWL. You see Dva has a high pickrate because no other hero has her type of kit and worst of all, youre talking about people who have TRAINED for months AND practised TOGETHER for a competition. Compare THAT to us regular players, its a different environment.
Funny how D.va is the target while Rein, Zarya, Lucio, Zen and Ana seem to not have much discussion eventhough they’re certainly picked more in ladder where, WE ALL PLAY.
7.3% pickrate with a 52% winratei n GM she is FINE stop whining, the nerf was NEEDED she is good at all bad at NOTHING before, now she is a little LESS good at all bad at nothing STILL
