Hero bans, map culling and now an “I give up” button. Why does my enjoyment constantly need to be held hostage by randoms? We’re homogenising overwatch into the most generically approved gameplay and killing the diversity that made it so wide-reaching and popular.
Now we would get an I give up button for people who don’t like the map, don’t like the hero bans, don’t like team comp, don’t like the etc.
I’m so tired of this leaver mentality. The surrender button is already there, you just don’t like the consequences.
From my experience, the matchup elos are pretty close. Save for someone sabotaging the game via raging in comms or afking; if we get stomped on defense, we also stomp on defense. I think some teams are just better at attack or defense as a whole.
Oh yeah I totally also need another way my consent is taken from me in this game where if I’m actually enjoying a match despite losing, another player can just end it early for me outside of my control because they have a skill issue and think the solution is to just quit rather than take the opportunity to get gooder. The people who want the surrender option the most are probably the worst player on their team, come at me. I’d rather you just leave my match, I LOVE it when the 0-10 on my team just rage quits and someone better backfills. Sometimes we even almost break even or turn it around even with the 4v5 and no backfill bc its 1 less ult battery inting for the enemy team and that was the real issue all along.
Obviously. Good players are not likely to give up and reasonable people realize that if the game is genuinely mismatched that it will end relatively fast. The only people who actively want to surrender are trash
Honestly make sense. It’s the next logical step now that the game has already been reduced down to banning parts of the game from being played.
Might as well full commit, make the game just a series of votes with cutscenes of action in the middle cuz who likes playing against half the roster anyways?

Unranked to gm or t500 videos , they go to their rank cause they deserve it , where is the forced 50 50 there? , once they or anyone get to their deserved rank (plat , gm or t500) and stay there , then u say it’s forced 50 50 cause I’m not able climb ? Make it make sense
And no one likes you calling “gg” after one teamfight and AFKing in spawn emoting. Absolutely NO to any kind of “surrender” option. People like you would vote in the first 20 seconds and either get your buddies in a group to vote as well and tip the scales, or get mad others didn’t want to end yet and throw the game. We already got map “voting”, don’t need another tool for trolling.
Well, leaver penalties have no place being in QP to begin with.
Being spawncamped is not the end of a game. Get together, pull through and make a comeback. I’ve had games where the enemy is so full of themselves they just sit in our spawn only to get pushed back and lose the whole game, or just totally forget the payload/point and let us cap it.

You get calibrated to some rank, and matchmaking will endeavor to find matches where teams are more or less equal, hence the 50/50 chance of winning. That’s what the “forced” 50/50 is. That’s nothing malicious — it’s just the matchmaker doing its job.
Unfortunately, you can’t account for smurfs, and you can’t predict the performance of individual players based on their ranks, as it can vary wildly, let alone predict how those players perform against other roles outside of their own.
Furthermore, it would seem that they widened match ranges, meaning there will be even less consistency with player performance.
Roles are balanced and matched against each other, but all roles do have to interact with each other, and not just their mirrored role. This is the issue with wider rank ranges in matchmaking.

You sound like my grandmother who would never not finish a book once she started - no matter how bad it was. I subscribe to the philosophy that personal time is finite and I would rather skip a couple bad matches and get a good one.
People are extraordinarily bad at knowing what is a bad match though. I’ve had QuickPlay games where we had a person leave and then we won.
In fact, more than half the time the person leaving is actually the problem and we win once they leave. Attitude is the most important factor. People who leave regularly have more bad matches than the rest of us

I’m not kidding, I do it all the time when the team is throwing or otherwise not even trying.
I care nothing for the impact of leaver penalties because I’ll just go do something else. It’s a video game, not a job.
if we had pre virus sombra it wouldnt be an issues because at least a person had zero excuse to not flank and go stealth to push the point.
The IGU feature is wanted by players because the world isnt perfect and often times a group of randos are not going to figure that out becase they are not capable of figuring they can get out in collective effort because half of everyone has comms blocked or would never listen.
