I usually play at 40-60 ping but right after the Winter event was released, my ping suddenly jumped to 220 ping and its not even stable, like it goes upto 300 then goes back down to 220 back and forth. Philippines btw. (sorry if I’m in the wrong region)

When I play any multiplayer game, 50% of the games I play have really high ping of 200+. Whatever the ping is remains consistent. Other games I get my usual 30-40 ping without it ever spiking up. This only happens in Overwatch.

whoever is working on this problem is probably just looking at all the WinMTRs and laughing as they continue to ignore the issue as it gets worse and worse.

Because its been 1& 1/2 months and this still hasn’t been solved and I continue to get penalized for blizzard’s fault.

I hope you get the same frustration that I have had to deal with blizzard. You are just getting more and more ignorant ever since Activision took over. I look forward to your demise

Having similar issues here- at its worst, every 10-20 seconds there will be about 3 full seconds of packets dropped (presumably, leading to a very high IND for several seconds), and the other players teleport around the map. You can see from these WinMTR outputs of different routes that it seems to happen around the last hop (worst response time 2500ms+, 3000ms+).

I will note that it seems to be server-dependent- some Blizzard servers I connect to do not exhibit this issue. It has been persisting for a few months now- many games are borderline unplayable for me at this time.

Just today I logged in to do a few quickplay matches and my MS and IND were 60ms and 40ms the entire time and the entire time, every 2 seconds, there was a half second delay and people would warp. Rinse repeat endlessly. Not sure if this is a separate issue but it only started today for me.

Who knows if posting this even matters at this point, but I play OW on Xbox one … and have been experiencing intermittent latency for a couple months, some days it’s fine but seems to be more consistently bad over the last few weeks. I regularly get 50-170 ping spikes with rampant rubber banding in game… it’s impossible to play and quite frustrating. I’d say it started when everyone’s else’s problems did.

Since I’m on an Xbox I can’t give the winmtr so I’ll just put this here:

  • What server are you being connected to? I get connected to all kinds of servers if i use the shooting range (pse, sae, lax, ord). Most regular matches put me in ord, but on occasion I get lax server.
    This should be on the Network Graph next to the IP, when running the WinMTR test. (IE: [lax1]) ord
    The Behavior You’re Seeing (Include Latency):
    Latency jumps between 120 and 180. Resting latency is about 130. Using a VPN gets me down to 80-120 if I find the best server, which seems to change night to night. I am not on a VPN while doing this test.

Hey everybody,

We’ve done additional investigation into this issue, and it looks like the various problems we were originally looking over have been resolved. The number of reports we’ve gotten on this problem has dropped drastically, and we don’t see evidence of the previous problems in our internal telemetry anymore.

We do have quite a lot of users on Bell Canada, but at this point we’re pretty convinced the issues we were originally investigating have subsided as there is no longer evidence of them in any of the traces we’ve received. You’re better off posting your own threads with WinMTRs while the problem is happening or contacting support to have your individual problem investigated.

To prevent further mixing of issues, we’re going to close this one out, but feel free to reopen your own threads or tickets for further support.
