On the groupâs⌠If they are stacked. Your team has stacks. So it is fair.
As for smurfs. Sod all they can do. If their MMR is the same, youâre just going to have to just pull your finger out and step up.

Rivals recently implemented a system to detect smurfs. It ended up banning normal players.

Dota2 did the same. Banned the wrong people, and in such small numbers that they quietly stopped talking about it and moved on.
Actually smurfs are few and far between. Best to just ignore them and carry on with your life.
Nope the better stack always wins. And in cases of 5 stack vs. 4 stack it may as well be a literal 4v5.

Stacks screw up the matchmaking in many ways (smurfing just to get to play together is just one scenario). Furthermore if people want to have fun playing toghether they better play quickplay, what are the odds of 4-5 friends having about the same rank in their main accounts to play for fun? Even if that is the case the matchmaker will have more difficulties assembling the teams because it cannot distribute the players properly by their MMR.
Worst scenario is 4 stacks, you as a solo player is forced to fill up the gap and play that unfair match, and if you lose it is your fault because the 4 stack members are not going to blame each other.

Wide groups will never be put with solo Q players. Unless weâre talking Open Q or something niche. We are talking about Role Q, right?
Statistically speaking, groups v non or different sized groups have equal chances of winning as differing stack sizes did not have an impact on match outcome. I think that fact dates back to Kaplan and OW1?
This can happen when teams are evenly matched yet one snowballs the other. Itâs even happened in OWL and other professional OW competitions.
You had a bad game and you got rolled or whatever. Itâs not keeping you stuck although playing vs a proper smurf can suck. They can be beaten, it is a team game after all, and failing that you can take the learnings from the loss and apply them to better your own gameplay. Do you have the code so we can help you with examples?

Are they masters on the roles they are playing or are you just seeing one master badge and assuming.
Always worth checking this first before proceeding.
The system reacts to any accounts that suddenly drop significantly in rank and bans them.
Problem with it is that the person who discovered the system was someone who hadnât played since S1. Their rank had been dropped 14 times by the seasonal resets and when he logged in for S3, the system reacted to the âsuddenâ drop in rank.
He was unbanned within an hour by a âmanual reviewâ though.
Whether itâs still in the game or not Iâm not sure, I imagine NetEase might want to take it out temporarily to tweak it so it acknowledges seasonal resets.
