Not a single hero is overpowered right now

The problem with countering doom is that as his counters you generally have to attack him mid dive, between his abilities, and there exist quite a few things in the game to support/benefit diving, ( repair pack, zarya bubble, harmony orb). The solution being to stay near your supports so he cant kill you with his combo, but then he will likely just dive the support.

Man you went right in. Tbh, it’s probably true. I’m sure everyone knows why I hate Genji and Doomfist.

Doomcancer needs to be removed from the damn game. He ruins every match he is in due to his cheesy one shot mechanics and how hard he is to kill with all the mobility, stuns and CC he brings. Literally just remove him from the game.

The only truly viable counterplay to Brigitte is mirroring it.

I’ve played too many games that come down to:

  • Mostly High Masters / GM players in the game
  • 1 Diamond on the other team
  • Diamond picks Brigitte
  • They roll 2 points
  • My team unanimously decides that we need our own Brigitte or we lose
  • We get our own Brigitte and stomp on them for the rest of the game because we were overall the more skilled team.

The fact that Brigitte existing in a team comp forces you to mirror it to deal with her (assuming the rest of her team has some brain function) even if you’re overall the more skilled team is a joke.

Or just run a Hanzo or Pharah. Brigitte compositions cannot touch Pharah and Hanzo has more than enough burst and ult combo with the Zarya.

On most maps Zarya can easily deal with Pharah, on other maps D.Va hard counters both.

No other hero in the game forces you to mirror it against competent teams to stand a chance of winning, no other hero forces you to pick counters either (Even though those ‘counters’ lack effectiveness).

EDIT: Another thing you seemed to miss was the fact this is a Diamond player being put into a GM game and forcing players who have spent hundreds of hours learning their heroes to swap, while on a hero they’ve never truly practiced, just played.

Huh? Zarya literally does not have enough range and has to lob and arched projectile. Her bubbles can only cover herself and one other person, so she does not even get decent charge if the Pharah players more reserved.

D.Va is a much better pick. But hard counter is beyond exaggerating on both fronts. In the case of both, she needs assistance and that is not practical in Brigitte compositions as they are running deathball.

Widowmaker.

I do not really care about the specifics. It is just false to say that you have to mirror a Brigitte composition to beat a Brigitte composition. Utterly ludicrous, honestly. I will give you that it is probably the easiest. But it does not FORCE the response.

Lets see…
D.Va
Ana
Tracer would be but Brigitte keeps her in check.

On most maps the skybox is too low for Pharah to fly out of Zarya’s range if she boost-jumps onto the high ground, Volskaya for example.

She doesn’t need assistance unless the enemy team is running a Pharmercy, which just makes it so the Brigitte deathball comp can walk into the 4 on the ground then chip down the Pharmercy with D.Va’s pellets while hiding behind their constant shields & healing

The only situations where Widowmaker can actually deal with a GOATs comp is defense on a map like Volskaya where she can abuse a bugged high ground position to headshot the Brigitte from behind as she enters choke, which gives her literally one shot to shut them down for 1 push. If she doesn’t take the shot before they go into the choke then they just get around the corner and Brigitte gets sandwiched inbetween 3 teammates with her shield up.

Oh, I guess, that seems a bit circumstantial to be perfectly honest with you.

As for D.Va, I just doubt it. The Pharah would have to be somewhat bad and the D.Va above average to land that many shots before Pharah retreats. And that just leaves the D.Va grossly out of position even if she were successful.

I never said that Widow countered GOATS. Just that she is one of the heroes that does require you to run the mirror if she is doing particularly well which I suppose is not entirely likely if they are running GOATS.

:smirk:

Yea other than Brigitte and Doomfist I guess.

Truer words have never been spoken.

Doomfist, Brigitte and Ana come to mind.

I’m not really sure if Brigitte is actually overpowered, but she sure is powerful for the little effort she requires to play.

Why are you not in GM yet, then?

Because being powerful does not equal free wins for everyone who plays her. I also don’t one-trick Brigitte.
You also realise if they enemy has a Brigitte, both of you can’t win, right?

Of course. But you do not need a mirror match up, to beat her. Doomfist, a decent Rein, Hanzo, Junk, Pharah can work against her like a charm.

I’m not saying she is without counters, just that she is easy to get value out of! Obviously there are ways to counter her.

Agreed. There are underpowered heroes like McCree but no insanely overpowered, broken heroes.

I disagree :man_shrugging:
