I actively have nostalgia for Sym 2.0. I miss her throwable shield, I miss her 6 baby turrets, I miss shield gen and the ACTUALLY impactful tele

Tbh I’m mixed on her rework. (Please note: this is just my opinion)
I feel like her turrets are meh. They feel stronger, but still easy to destroy and the ability to throw them ends up with me accidentally throwing them places I don’t want them to be. And her ult is not great at all. It’s not impactful. It doesn’t really block damage, considering the enemies can just…walk through it. And the teleporter is meh now as well. I barely use it in most matches, because what’s the point? I don’t feel like there’s as many clever uses now. Idk, she still feels fun and powerful, but she def has issues.

I would like symm more if they didn’t butcher her primary fire so bad. On top of removing autolock they give the thing 20 ticks a second. So the tanks that symm was intended to counter actually counter her. Hopefully we see some love next PTR patch.

They play her out of the bare necessity of having turrets, everything else is disposable.
I like her now. I just wish her primary was worth using.

I mean, I’m not sure about the other people, but that’s not why I play her. I just play her cause I think she’s cool. (Especially with the Dragon skin…have you seen that Soul Edge-looking gun???)

Here’s a few changes i would make to adjust her, i’m not saying this will make her completely viable but it would move her a step in the right direction like torbjorn.
Her orbs are triple the projectile speed of her old ones so if they make it double the speed of her old ones and bring back the shield piercing affect with the current charge up damage then that would be a good change.
Her turret cooldowns at their current state are too much (they are 10 seconds presently) i think if they lowered the cooldown to 7 seconds then they wouldn’t feel so clunky, after all sym usually needs all 3 to be useful.
They should just revert her primary fire, imagine the primary fire of mccree, tracer or winston for example being replaced, any characters primary should not be replaced, especially with what is essentially a reused zarya beam asset that is worse in almost every way to symmetra’s old beam and even zarya’s beam.
Beyond that they would need to look into her defense, even torbjorn has his super saiyan transformation, symmetra has absolutely nothing to protect herself with presently, she’s basically like zenyatta except without the raw dps.
I think all of these changes would put symmetra in the right direction.

Yes, that is the skin I use. Unfortunately her survivability is nonexistent and her ultimate is yawn worthy in comparison to the old teleporter and shield gen.
True. One of the only times I can see her ult being useful is if there’s a D.Va bomb or something, but let’s be real, an ult that has such specific use/timing isn’t a good ult.
I think it’s sad that mei’s ice wall is basically that.
A ultimate should be more powerful then a ice wall.
Although i will give it some credit since i can just weave back and fourth between it to get kills without being damaged.

i think they tried with her. their rework has potential, she just needs buffs which everyone here has already mentioned.
biggest QOL improvement would be lock on primary or a health increase to make up for her terrible lack of speed
