Double jump, wall climb, base move speed increase, dash reset and whatever they decide to give dps for a role passive. (admittedly the switch to keep ult isn’t great xD)
I’m not a one trick, or even close, i play Ana, Mercy, Bap, Zen, Moira to about the same level. Also play like 75%+ of the rest of the roster to my rank.
My profile is open, just look, i like most heroes, it’s how i know most of OW not as much as people want to say.
I also laughed in my previous comment about
Like i know, OW likes to hand out results for not as much as people want to believe. Still love the game.
Don’t see the movement speed as “passive” when things like armor or shields are not. I think this is just stat padding.
Also counting reset as a passive is also disingenuous. It’s part of the ability. Take a breather granting 50% damage reduction is not a “passive.” Anti-nade blocking/amplifying heals are not a “passive.”
Ana isn’t the only way with lots of abilities, especially if you stat pad as you did Genji.
My only beef with Genji now is that he can cancel deflect without consuming other resources.
This specifically makes it that you cannot bait out deflect and force genji to waste blade time or expend his dash in order to get out of it. Removes one of the key moments of counterplay for him.
except i literally wrote it in my post and your adding it in now to seem like it’s not as funny as it seems.
ya know, cause your bias isn’t showing too Riiiiiight?
they group these things together so it doesn’t seem like so much, a lot of this game does it.
Here let me shoot myself for example, nade is aoe, damage, healing+ and anti heal. like it’s not that big of a deal, passives sit there and get free value, just like give my fav hero 3 even, designed to do something annoying to gengi… (its a joke brig was aweful xD)
what system do you use then? do you not break down a characters effect on the game into categories?
Is it just blizzard gave this a title, so thats good enough for me?
all i ask is that you imagine i am talking in a normal lighthearted tone, i promise im just sitting here replying between matches and dont mean nothing by anything.
You’re bad at the game. Don’t confuse you being trash with a character being bad. Genji is clearly OP in OW2. The fact that people think he has a high skill floor is such a joke with how many get out of jail free mechanics he has
Genji to me is balanced but an annoying character. Much of the time its like some zen or ana player refusing to swap. There are so many picks to make that mitigate his value and people just refuse to do it. A backline turret is the easist strat to shut down most gengu players.
For supportz yoi have mercy moira and brig. Even lucio to an extent.
what made genji so overtuned in the past half/full year or so? I remember the last buff was him getting a 1 damage buff in his shurikens and a 10 damage nerf on his db, and he was considered a pretty bad pick back then
what makes you think he’s so powerful now?
this is assuming the thread is talking about ow1 and not ow2 since I have no clue what changes happened there
The point isn‘t what system you use but whether you’re consistent or not. I gave my reasons why I don’t consider those as passives and I am consistent.
You can count reset/speed as passives - if you also count armor/shield as passives, or extra effects on other abilities as passives. That way, you’re at least consistent.
Seeing as how you immediately said “I predicted this” instead of saying “yeah armor/shield/etc are also passives,” this is why I called out the bias.
I don’t breakdown a character into how many abilities he/she has. That’s not how you look at a hero. Tracer has a far slimmer kit than Genji but she’s always been orders of magnitude better. She actually has a slimmer kit than most heroes in the game but is widely considered to be the most op hero.
LMAO you were so stung by that, you had to go digging into my profile and try to rank-shame me on a dead game. That’s some pure copium.
Most people know this ranked system is broken, but I’m diamond on my other account, so there goes your attempt to try to “alpha” me with your rank lol.
I just don’t take to the game seriously anymore and just mess around rather than try to sweat a dead game, which is why i play on this account. But back when I took the game seriously and played a lot, I was able to neutralize master/low gm level genjis just fine when I focused on just trying to counter them.
He’s a pretty brainless hero but still the blizz developers felt the need to remove pretty much all of his counters for OW2 so that people like you could delude themselves into thinking they were so awesome at the game by playing an OP character
When the server disagrees with the client, it is the shooter that is favored in the resolution. Unfortunately for you, the shooter is sometimes a support player.
i would count passive damage resistance to an extent, it is, HP, with an added passive effect, it is 2 things not 1.
and HP shield i would count as HP, that will passively regenerate after 3 secs.
I count them like this because the “passively” take effect with little to no effort of the player.
But I’m not really interested in ‘What-about-ism’, even with this the most passives a hero has with shields or armor is 2, rien with steadfast and armor. we could sit here all day and say “what about” it get no where. Give me 2 more passives and it’s closer.
Does, I have to deal with XYZ ABC MNOP to fight this hero, or they have a smaller kit than someone else give you a good chance of survival?
(I also agree on tracer, her and genji getting nerfed would have prevented the brig effect, that came from their existence)
Yeah this is why I just use the standard system. (https://overwatch.fandom.com/wiki/Passive_ability) instead of counting effects tied to abilities as “passives.”
This seems like another method of number padding. I suppose you count ad strafing as “one” thing you have to deal with, and double jump as another thing thing you have to deal with, and then wall climb yet another?
To me the only thing I really have to deal with vs Genji is his deflect. That’s the only ability that I can play mind games on. Dash/jump/climb are all part of tracking that is natural to me.
Small kit doesn’t give you a better chance to survive. Widow, Cassidy, Soldier, Hanzo etc can all kill you faster and from a farther distance than Genji, despite all of them having smaller kit.
