No Aim Assist on console and PC cross play is stupid

I think aim assist should be turned on only for console players. People bring up MnK players but:

  1. Those are a very small minority of players.
  2. MnK is technically considered cheating anyway so there’s no reason to treat them as a group that needs working around.

I think either Bliz should either say MnK is allowed or give console players aim assist to help us fight PC players. That or, they could just allow aim assist for QP matches.

There is no way for them to detect console players using a mouse and keyboard adapter that masquerades as a controller.

there is no issue. you are purposefully hindering yourself by playing with pc players.

i assure you that if when console and pc players grouped up together they played on console lobbies there would be hell fire.

aim assist doesnt belong with pc

They could try to hold open discussions with the major console brands to try and tackle the issue. I doubt it’s fully undetectable but then again, I’m not really a tech guy.

Thankfully, aim assist is less of a problem with projectile heroes and less-aim intensive heroes like Mercy. It just feels severely limiting.

They already said that they actively lobby major console manufacturers in order to have an all-or-nothing situation with KB+M and the adapters that give an unfair advantage.

Either activate KB+M universally for everyone, or actively punish/disable people who use KB+M adapters on console.

The console manufacturers have no incentive, and wouldn’t dare, with how much they have for officially licensed controllers.

It’s not cheating. The game lets you play with a mouse if you just plug it in the Xbox USB port. When teamed with a PC player of course.

If using a mouse is better than a controller then use a mouse, the game supports it. You still won’t have aim assist though but neither do PC players so it’s fair.

I fully support blizzard blocking it. Lets see how console players manage when they have to do the actual aiming themselves and not have the console do it for them.

If your group has already stopped playing and moved to other games why are you here?

It is activated when playing in the PC pool. I don’t know what else you people want.

Play with a controller and auto-aim against other consoles, and plug in a mouse for the PC pool and no aim assist.

Or just make Xims more available for your average console consumer. Sony/Nintendo/Microsoft can license them and voila. Now the people who prefer that or controller have an easily accessible way to use either of their preference.

I don’t see a problem with aim assist for QP if they give PC players the option to disable crossplay entirely.

On Xbox, and only with crossplay pool.

Not on Switch, not on PlayStation.

This is the second best solution. The first would be input based matchmaking.

Are you dumb kid? Do you understand how aim works on console? Having good aim is almost impossible without aim assist on console

no worries. why wouldn’t there be? devs are smart. right? console should have aim assist bc (1) ow was designed to be played on pc so its unplayable on console without aim assist (2) the amount OF console aim assist is excessively insignificant. i think pc players concern was, that they HEAR the word “aim assist” and assume that there would be a disadvantage. i would ask any ow pc player concerned about console aim assist that if they truly feel that console aim assist means much of anything, then how come there are endless ineffective console players. its the strength of the aim assist that matters, and on console, the strength of aim assist is pretty much non existent or else there would be many players lasering on console. if aim assist meant anything to be concerned about, then how come there are so many ineffective players on console.

Blame the platform owners for not permitting KB/M.
