It’s just nice sometimes, you know? I’m not saying it’s necessary, but it is still cool to see things that you can relate to.
For a super simple example? I’m left handed. When I see fictional characters where the creator intentionally goes out of their way to make sure their character is left handed, and is always holding something in their left hand… I identify with it! I see that and think “oh that’s cool!”
I dont think it’s going to change the world or anything, but if something as simple as that can make me feel ‘seen’, I can only imagine what it would be like for other features, ethnicities, backgrounds, etc.
Like with anything, sure, people can take it too far and become too demanding, but there will always be the squeaky wheels.
Going to say this bluntly: Kiriko is not in her early 20s. I know what they are trying to say, because they are demographic targeting, but the lore they wrote for her makes it impossible. At best she is the same age as Lucio (28) because any younger raises some serious um concerns about the timeline they made for her and honestly even 28 requires a few characters being younger than they currently are.
Oh yeah I guess so… even then no thank you. There needs to be more robots and gilfs instead of any men, there’s enough already for a while. And that’s surprising to hear myself say as I’m a very very gay man
Junkrat is 27, lifeweaver is 31, Lucio is 28. I should probably rephrase the thread because 27,28,31 aren’t old ahaha. I’m referring to a young male in his early early twenties (20-25)
The only character we have who is actually in their early 20s is DVA with Illari being 18. Generally the reason is that OW is made up of “the best of the best” and the heroes are going to be excellent at whatever they are doing. That generally means you are not going to be 22, or the age when you just started what you are doing as you are unlikely to be the best of the best at anything.
Also this is a spoiler but the game takes place 50-60 years in the future so Rein and Soldier are some of the few characters who would be alive right now and therefore be the most relatable.
Indeed, I am reacting to your claim, that only girls are in twenties and males there are super old…
…which is kinda harsh and rude to us folks in our 30s xD
