Im not even that mad about her losing hack and cyberspace… what makes me mad Is that the abilities are generic, uncreative, sloppy nothing burgers that reflect nothing this character should or could be… Is It that hard to come up with something new for a DPS? FINE remove the hack or whatever but then make sure to give the hero something good in return? this Is a huge pile of dung being planted right in all players faces who somewhat care for Sombra…
If theyre making her Support can they atleast give her a cool and unquie kit? compared to any supp in the game she Is now extremely generic and boring, I dont even know If the hero Is good or not because I dont care. In my Opinion they broke her even more, I mean what Is this? 2009 league classic?! It CANT be that difficult to atleast give her something cool?
you could do so much cool stuff with her personality and Identity, she could steal and store projectiles maybe, give her Illusions, (If keeping hack) making a minigame for hack ability that requires more than just pressing left click so it becomes more skill dependant, give her a gun a second mode like a mini shotgun or maybe a precision pistol, make her faze through walls…. how can they not have more concepts than spitting a puddle on the ground and a left click heal? please do anything, ANYTHING that Is Interesting!

No. She’s a flanker that happens to have a heal she can applies to her teammates every 9 seconds. Everything else is similar. She’s nowhere close to being a healbot.
Actually Sombra is pretty supportive in the lore, especially to Sigma. She’s not nearly as selfish as she initially let on. Plus, she’s not a healer. She’s a hacker with an uzi who infiltrates and disrupts the enemy team, sabotaging and setting up kills and every 9 seconds points at a teammate to restore their health. Supports in this game are just DPS with utility and some form of healing.
Her kit is cool and unique. She is the premiere flanker support in the game who infiltrates the backline and sets her team up for picks while being a great duelist on her own. No other support plays like her.
They favored keeping her kit relatively the same in favor of giving us a bunch of new toys. The only thing we’re really losing is Hack for Hotfix. Cyberspace is just a much more interesting Virus.
Because her current design is only terrible because they leaned into her burst damage component instead of her utility. She went from utility-based hacker to burst damage assassin. The new version leans more into the utility aspect of the character, which removes the pain point of her entire gameplay loop revolving around blowing up the backline before they can react. It’s much more interesting and nuanced for her and healthier to play against.
I’d actually say it’s pretty genius to take an annoying as all hell character like Sombra and fix the frustrating elements in her kit with as few changes as they made. I’m sad we’re losing hacking enemies, but she can still hack deployables which makes sense.
Besides that, her gameplay loop is staying extremely similar but without all the frustrating elements that had her kept as a throw pick. This rework is looking extremely promising.

You should probably go on the forums and protest to Blizzard and see if they will revert her back and/or best case give you your money back for the skins you paid for?
Watched Questron’s videos, and he really makes it look fun! She’ll probably be the most fun and interesting support to play.

Completely agree! Sucks I’m losing my main for the DPS slot, but her gameplay looks awesome. Similar to before, but with more of that utility and disruption I miss from her Overwatch 1 version. I can’t wait to get my hands on her.
