New players ruin the game!?!?!?!

if you want to avoid brand new players then I suggest play competitiv

quickplay has players from all different skill levels, including new players

^ thats exactly what MMR is for, itll take a few matches of getting your teeth kicked in and some frustrated teammates, but youll eventually be put against players with similar capability, and youll go through the normal trial and error of improvement

I never play ranked, so you can be certain when I say that I’m not talking about ranked. People complain about and berate new players being bad at the game in QP. So my point still stands, it is hard for new players to join because OW players take QP too seriously.
And even if you get new players in your ranked game, it’s still not okay to go off at them in game chat, because guess what? It’s still not their fault. They just queued up for ranked the same as you. I’m sure they’d equally want to be placed in a game with people of equal skill.

The new players are actually alternate accounts of smurfs, trying to lose and get locked in bronze to farm others.

Real new players are rare for this game, especially with all the negative reviews for lack of content while rushing for OW2.

I think the biggest problem is that the matchmaker doesn’t work like it used to because the overall quality of play has risen for every rank.

Genuine silver/gold/plat/diamond players now, play way better than silver/gold/plat/diamond players did 3 or 4 years ago. The overall skill in every rank has gotten better.

Putting a new player in gold 4 years ago would have been fine. But now, when gold players are a lot more aware of what they should be doing in general and the skill level is higher than it used to be, it’s a mess.

I think it was Jayne at one point talking about how the overall skill in each rank has grown so much since Overwatche’s release. So just defaulting a new account to somewhere in gold when the level of play is higher than it used to be can be frustrating for more competitive players.

New players should get their own pool at least first 50 levels. That´s it. Sorry, but When I get 2 or 3 clueless lvl 10 every second game, how can I enjoy this game? I am golden border - I am not best, but playing with people, who have no idea what to do or they don´t even know the map? It´s not their fault, nor mine. It´s blizz´s fault. They should be in their own pool.
Yes, I remember my start as clueles low lvl and it was bad game every time I got some silver or gold border into my or enemy team. I was far behind their skill and they usualy were toxic about it. The least I can do for low levels is not beying toxic and help them. But Do I enjoy such games? - nope.
So yeah…they ruin our games, just it´s not their fault.

I believe the game picked up new players too.
I believe most of them are little peeps.
:hatched_chick::hatched_chick::hatched_chick:

I saw a Reaper run up on the enemy team and just stood in one place just shooting.
:relaxed:
I immediately thought, “Awww. Little peep.”
I wasn’t mad at all.
Playing healer, I thought to pocket our new Reaper.

New players ruin the game but its not their fault.
Blizzard did and still does a poor job educating players, thats why the tutorials are non existant, we dont have SCOREBOARDS and the replays were added 3 years later.

This is not even remotely locked on New players, the biggest problem OW has is that a HUGE amount of the players either plays the game the wrong way or doesnt actually know why the lose/win most of their games.

That is a BIG issue since survivor bias, dunning kruger and blame deflecting runs rampant in OW.

Can I frame this comment? That was quite possibly the cutest comment I’ve ever read :sob:

What are you talking about?
The game has tutorial.
New players have what we didn’t have…lots of “how to” videos on utube.
They may be new, but I believe they may pick it up quickly.

If you think the game’s current tutorial helps you playing OW, I think we live in different universes mate, no offense (unless its sarcasm, which you didnt make obvious).

Also outside resources still for every game in the universe so no, thats not an excuse for the poor job Blizzard does on educating (new) players.

Well, Blizzard expects you to teach them the ropes. At your expense.

If give new players their own pool, how will they stop being clueless?

Thea learn? I mean, I got no help from higher players. I learned all maps and combos alone.

From who will they learn, if they are surrounded by clueless players like themselves?

Why don’t you trust Jayne?

You probably missed my point. I´ve meet too many players, who didn´t know the map, didn´t know that there is some point or payload, didn´t use their abilities - I literaly had Orisa, Sigma not using their barriers, cause they didn´t know, I had Moiras, who didn´t know they have balls as ability. I am talking about pool within 50 lvls maybe, so they learn this BASICS, before they go into play with other players. And don´t tell me you need other people to learn this things…

Of course not. There’s new accounts, but not players.

Except there’s no new players, it’s just smurfs.

That happens in every online game. If you do jump in into a game that’s been out for five years, you can be sure to expect that. Also, I assume you mean team chat.

You mean the tutorial that left me assuming assuming every character was gonna have a sprint and a gun with some kind of attachment when I first played it cause it only has you play Soldier?
