New experimental patch notes (ashe, sigma and Ball Nerfs, Hanzo buff)

Ideally it would be to nerf heroes in a manner that leaves them fluid, like the ball nerf is fantastic in that it reduces his overall power but lets him keep his fluidity.

A damage nerf to sigma I bet would have gone over better.

I don’t think people will notice the Ashe one all too much. EXCEPT the effects of it are a harsher nerf to Ashe than they appear.

While the damage is the same. So is her ammo consumption. her dmg per clip is down. And what is Ashe’s weakness? reloading. She even fires it all away faster:p

Good change for Ashe. indirect nerf to Mercy. I wonder if this will just lead to Mercy pocketing Mccree instead.

The fact that you’d be willing to just say “forget you” to your paying customers and would rather them just leave altogether is just… ugh

Mcree is in the same boat with Mercy, the 30% doesn’t actually break any damage thresholds.

Not really. Devs need to convert Damage/FPS gamers into Tank players.

Giving them less of what they want, is a bad idea.

The Sigma change is absolutely horrible.
2.5 seconds is an insane time window in overwatch.
It makes the hero very clunky and his ability to cover his team very unreliable.

Instead of destroying a character, why not bring some of the less perfoming tanks up a notch?

Players of all kinds value fluidity, not everyone wants their tanks to do damage.

Except for Ashe this is a balance patch that caters to a whiny minority and completely ignores the reason that any of these heroes are meta in the first place.

Go down the line and nerf every tank one after another while inventing nonsense rationalizations why each one has been “overpowered” for too long despite the clear historical data that shows they are only seeing play in combination with OTHER SPECIFIC HEROES.

Pretty much this.

Nerf Tank A? Play Tank B.
Nerf Tank B? Play tank C.
Nerf Tank C? Back to A.

This is NOT how you balance the game, guys.

Those players are highly replaceable and represent a tiny minority of MOBA/RPG minded players.

Either they convert Damage focused players to Tanks, or the OW2 launch goes horribly.

That’s not the sort of thing that should be viewed as “optional” in order to appeal to less than 2% of the playerbase.

It’s a really bad change that doesn’t hurt double barrier AT ALL, but instead enforces it because it makes running Sig without another shield a huge liability.

They need to nerf what makes him scary at melee range, ie rock, and leave his barrier and midrange alone.

As a Ball main, I do not think his nerfs impact him that severely.
Sigma’s barrier cooldown is too much. He has been nerfed since launch and now nerfed again. At least let him get something extra in return. His Ult for instance should be faster cast and activated. Maybe windup time for his rock reduced? Or maybe his orbs damages more.

First of all zarya is complete garbage right now, sigma eats your grav and if you land a grav sigma can use his shield and grasp to negate it entirely, if your playing melee heroes ball can boop you away from the grav and mine the grav.
It’s not like 99 percent of the people on this forum are cabable of eating a grav It takes too much game sense and mind games for most ow players to grasp, so adding back the dva changes would do nothing for 99 percent of the community.

No damage thresholds except he’s a good pocket target. Hitscan damage = reliable, the extra damage from the mercy pocket makes it harder for the enemy to out heal his damage.

For example a mercy dmg boosted headshot from mccree does 182. To stop Mccree’s next shot kill they need to heal 73hps in the next 0.5s which no healer can do. It would take maybe Moira and then some random tickle AOE to help outheal it.

On top of that it boosts his survivability. and FTH on tanks is superior. It basically improves his burst.

I don’t care about losing 1% of the playerbase, if it prevents losing 5% of the playerbase, and gains and additional 10% from OW2.
